You really need Lidarr. And Emby handles music fine. Get rid of Plex, it's bloatware at this point.

I've never understood fricking with the genre tag. It's just a giant PITA. I know what I have in my library and just search by that.

i have a gigantic FAX collection (from back in the day) and probably 65+ albums in the "Late Night Tales" series from the UK label. The names of these are all over the board and sometimes I like to play just these albums and its easy because I have a "Late Night" genre and every album is in there.

I have way too many albums to find them by artist or album alone. How close to 50,000 tracks is your collection? If you have as much music as I do you're either building playlists all day long to organize it or use 'genre' tags which is much more clean and elegant.

I'm beginning to think you're a digital hoarder with your music and movie collection

Do you have collections of physical items too?. That might explain your behavior a little more

Educate me on this, what’s the difference between a remastered track and the original when it comes streaming ?

rerecorded means the artist rerorded the music to get around royality issues so if you don't listen carefully (jeff lynn mr. blue skies for instance) you're listening to the new one and not the one you grew up with.

remastering is when an album is redone (notably most stuff recorded prior to 1972 when copyright rules changed) to again; get around royalty issues since the courts declared the remastered music as 'new work' and not subject to the original contracts.

these are done to cut corners & save money assuming most people won't know or care.

for starters the new mr. blue skies sounds like shite and leaves out the whole interlude at the end but most people not paying attention would think its the original.

Sorry about the Mr. Blue Skies. I find the remastered stuff sounds better than other tracks from the same time period.
