Will saving Outlook emails grab attention from Corporate?

I have a friend who wants to save some emails to defend himself in the future, should the need arise.
If he starts saving numerous emails to a flash drive, is there a chance that the corporate IT guy would notice this?
I realize there are a lot of variables in this scenario, but curious as to any input from someone who is familiar with the way Outlook is viewed from a company standpoint.

Most corporate cyber groups don't allow PSTs or email backups due to security risks, but there's not much cyber can do to stop it.
If they are moving it all to a local drive and not a network share, then they probably won't have any idea

Maybe take photos with his cell phone. Or screenshots. (Most companies let you access your email from your phone because they might need to communicate with you after hours.)

I understand the skepticism, but if I were going to do this, I'd get a friend to ask for me too.
Unfortunately, there's no outlook in my office, and I'm the ceo of my tiny company. (and the mechanic, janitor, etc)

Print them to PDF. (or print them and stick them in a manilla folder)

I often archived emails (past the corporate record retention period) on long term projects, etc. using Adobe Acrobat and/or Bluebeam.
Works great - folder structures remain intact, you can search, etc. Pass this on to your 'friend'.

Was your friend trying to razz the new kid at work who put their pronouns in their email?

We can't even attach an external drive to our laptops. Screen caps probably best bet and don't name them in a way they are obvious. Just drop to google drive etc....

Can you not just forward them to your personal email?

Just forward them to private email address…

Forwarding "numerous emails" to your private email address is definitely something with a "chance that the corporate IT guy would notice".
Just print to PDF and save somewhere.

Somewhere externally like a flash drive or similar. Don't want to save those to network shares or company O365 OneDrive

If your IT allows yall to plug in usb drives to computers, i would assume they’re not worried about which emails are being saved to .pst
Could potentially burn to cd/dvd

Often times USB drives need to be encrypted before they can be used on company devices

Flash drives are disabled at my employer. Sending work emails to to personal email is an easy way to get fired also. Sure you can do it, but they know.
I would print to paper or take a picture with my phone. If you can log in remotely from home, print screen from personal computer and save locally
