I have a covered outdoor area with good sound. Have a Fosi 100 watt bluetooth amp hooked up to some decent outdoor speakers. all housed in a waterproof outdoor box.

Looking to add a TV to the mix.
Anyone have an "outdoor" tv?
Or do most just buy a normal tv and place it outdoors?

It will be protected from rain, but not humidity, bugs, etc.
Want to use This to keep it out of the way when we're not using it.

Thought's/Recs?
Thanks.

Neighbor has a regular TV mounted on the wall of his house by the pool. It is protected by nothing but the eave of the house, and he'll drape a towel over it in winter. Going on 3 years now.

He says if it goes out, he'll get another for a few hundred bucks. Beats the hell out of paying thousands for an outdoor model.

TCL Roku TV is among the best of the low cost brands.

Bought a 65” Vizio, have it mounted in a Stormshell box. Works great for me.

Just get a cheap tv. Cover it with a blanket if it gets down to the 20’s. Otherwise you will be fine. I’ve got a 55” Samsung open box I bought several years ago for about $500

I don’t have mine in a box or cabinet—just hanging on the brick wall. I think anything surrounding it leads to more dirt, insect, web, etc collecting

I have a 65" TCL Series 4 on my patio wall - been using it for about two years now with no problems:

Like someone posted above, I bought a cheap 55" TCL and it has been great for 2+ years; I bought a cover for it on Amazon and couldn't be happier. Could have bought about 7 of these TVs for what the sunbrite 55" cost at the time. If i get another year or 2 out of it, it'll all bonus but it shows no signs of slowing down.

This looks awesome, but the box looks like it cost more than the TV.

65" box appears to be $600

How are you guys mounting to the brick? Just drilling into brick or mortar?

I bought a cheap model LG for the patio. I hope to get 3-5 years out of it. You can find solid, good brands for sub $500. The most cost effective in my opinion.

just anchor directly in the brick. tvs arent heavy enough to cause an issue.

just get a cheap tcl or something similar.

as far as protection, just go on amazon and type outdoor tv cover and get one of the cloth covers that matches the size tv you bought. should be under $50.

we had a cheap tv and cheap cover on our back porch for 3 years before we sold. New owners are still using same tv and cover for last 18 months with no signs of slowing down. This is near a pool and exposed to everything but direct rain as the back porch is 14' off ground.

you could buy cheap tvs for next 20 years for less than the price of one of the "weather proof" tvs.

Go with a cheap one and leave it uncovered as long as it is protected from rain. Mine has been out there 3 years with no problem. I only have to wipe the screen off once or twice a year.

My FIL had his out there 5-6 before the screen started to get messed up. He covered it at first but dirt dobbers would get in there and try to make nests. He hasn’t covered it since.

the best patio TV is your old living room TV

Upgrade your living room TV whenever the outdoor one goes bad (should be easily 3-5 years)

Tech advances and prices drop its a good cycle

This is my plan. Get a cheap one, take it down in the dead of winter, and hope I can get 4 years out of it, then replace.

Go buy the cheapest TV that meets your requirements from Best Buy and a $40 TV cover off Amazon and be done with it.
