it is funny apple is so self obsessed with themselves they cant use the industry standard. They basically had to take the tech and create their own plug in to be different.
the ONLY thing they have done right and i wish other laptop companies would fix is the pullaway, magnet power plug on laptops.

His points are correct, although Cpt is certainly right that micro is everywhere, for any type of accessory.
When I had a 6P on USB-C, that was much more difficult. It's probably a little easier now, I'm guessing.
But certainly accessories are better for the iPhone. It's less of a big deal if you're on the latest Samsung flagship, but if you're OnePlus or Google or whatever, you get about 1/10th of the options and almost none of the high end accessory options.

You're arguing with me over my own anecdotal experiences.
Yeah, USB is prevalent. But odds are the friend sitting next to you is more likely to have an iPhone charger than to have the USB type you need. I don't have the statistics in front of me, but there are way more iPhone users than users of any individual android. And since all the androids don't change their charging standard simultaneously, your odds of finding one when you're in a bind is much smaller. Some made the jump to USB-C a couple years ago, while others lagged behind. USB-C was pretty much impossible to ever find at an airport or waiting room charging station. I was in a doctor's waiting room the other day and they had a charging station with about 5 different types of iPhone chargers and one USB-micro charger. You're right that tons of devices use it, but that doesn't equate to being easy to find one when you're stuck in a seminar or some real world situation
But you're also zeroing in on the charger thing. I used that as an example. I was arguing all accessories in general have more options with iPhone. The mainstream androids have a lot too, but if you ever go with the Essential Phone or something more off the beaten path, then there's not much to work with for cases, screen protectors, etc. Hell, I just got the Pixel 2 XL, the flagship of the creator of Android, and there aren't THAT many accessories considering it's one of the top of the line androids as compared to iPhones

usb micro, or even usbC is nearly universal...not just for phone but for peripherals literally everywhere.
I've been using USB C since the nexus 5X. Now have the pixel XL and love how fast it charges my phone.
When I had the 5x it was difficult to find a USB C if you needed one in a pinch. Now they're everywhere thankfully.

There aren't that many overpriced Google branded accessories if that's what you mean?

Navigation of OS - I find this much easier and intuitive on android. The dedicated back button and recent apps button are sorely missed when on apple OS. And all the customization options and launchers you can get on android allow tons of custom shortcuts, gestures, etc.
Apple just greatly improved this with the right swipe to go back through recent apps.

Had no idea android soared that far past iOS. I was talking out of my arse on that one. Although the context of my arguments are more about the US and my local community, not the global demographics. Guess it's changed a lot. Admittedly, I didn't have OS marketshare statistics memorized, but props to Apple for keeping that perception alive in my mind.
Point still stands that it's generally easier to find things for iPhones. A lot of 3rd party brands only make accessories for iPhone + the handful of more popular androids.

No, it's called being a pretentious douchebag.

No way dude. Even my iPhone loving wife has to have micro usb chargers for other things. Those things are everywhere.

How many "accessories" do you need for a phone?
Charger, case. Charger comes in the box (both wall and car), the Pixel case is sold in Best Buy for $30 or so.
All speakers and headphones are bluetooth nowadays. Screen protectors are irrelevant if you have a Pixel (the glass is scratch proof)
Are you talking about those phone case/purse wallet combos? I am seriously interested in what "accessories" I am missing out on.

what? every version?
The iPhone connector has only ever changed once... and the previous connector had a 10 year run which is not bad.

I've had android phones for years but use an iPad and can confidently report the following. The iPad does far more things to piss me off than my android phone ever has.
But the iPad has GarageBand and imovie which skulldrag comparable apps to Droid tablets.
I'll probably be double dipping in the ios/Droid pool for awhile.
