Google Fi credit

quote:

You can qualify as either a new or existing Google Fi customer.

Activate your Pixel 3a or Pixel 3a XL within 30 days of the shipment confirmation email and remain active for 30 consecutive days after activation.

Activate on the Fi account used to purchase the phone. You can activate it yourself or give it to a group plan member to activate.

Activate on a full service plan (i.e., data-only SIMs do not qualify).

apparently, the 3a/3aXL are solid mid-tier phones that have the same camera/software as the full 3s

i've been waiting for a phone to upgrade. i was thinking of getting a pixel 2XL but i think this is a better deal. it's new, slighly more expensive, and has a headphone jack. a used Pixel 3 is about $450 on Swappa (so roughly 50% more expensive)

$100 gift card at Best Buy
$100 gift card at B&H
If you had an OG Pixel you can get $400 in bill credits on trade in at T-Mobile.

Google paid for a new motherboard on my XL since it bootlooped. Going to see how long it lives and collect those 400 bones (for the 6P) after May 12, hopefully. Looks like a decent deal for those looking to upgrade.

i bought the $200 g6 a few month ago in a transition b/c my Nexus 6P wasn't really usable due to the battery (can't wait to collect that money either). downgrading to the g6 really made me realize i don't need a top end power phone. i just want a better camera

it's one of those "i'm living in a simulation" scenarios b/c it feels like this was created for people exactly in my situation

and the headphone jack is just sweet, sweet icing on the cake for me

Same situation. Bought the Moto X4 back in November because the Nexus 6 had become a POS. Really considering this Pixel. The X4 has been okay but the camera sucks and it's developed some glitch where it doesn't switch carriers like it's supposed to. Google has known about it for months and hasn't been able to offer a fix. There are all kinds of complaints on the Fi subreddit about it.

I'm not really a complainer, but wondering if it's worth pushing them to buy this phone back from me. It really hasn't been a huge inconvenience other than random notification vibrations a few times an hour.

I'm loving my Pixel 2 XL right now so no reason to 'upgrade' to a 3a. I'll patiently wait for the 4 later in the year and hope they really do fix everything from hardware to specs.

Oh, I know. It's why I quoted it. I'll sit tight till October-ish. The only issue I've found with my 2XL is the inconsistent rapid charging using original Google charger/cable.

I got an 8/10 condition Pixel 2 XL for $250 in Amazon a few months ago. It had a few minor scratches on the back the but was in otherwise phenomenal condition. Also the battery health percentage was in a high 90's so the person barely use the phone. Even came in the original box with the accessories. If you can find one in that price range I would highly recommend it. Only gripe is no headphone jack!

If it had wireless charging, I'd have pulled the trigger on the 3a today. But sadly, it doesnt. I think that's a dealbreaker for me. Otherwise it sure seems like a great pickup

i was looking into that but i pulled the trigger on a 3A yesterday. the effective $50 difference was made up with buying directly from google and the warranties. plus the headphone jack

ya im still on the 2xl.

ive learned to cope with the no headphone jack. the wireless charging bluetooth earbuds are clutch

i have these, sounds quality is alright, but i go through so many sets at the gym so dont splurge

Ended up upgrading several company phones to 3a XLs. Paid $117/phone. Can't beat that.

That's a major selling point and a hell of a package.

I just got mine in yesterday.... I've needed a new phone and after my last issue with Google, they ended up making it right. So when these became available I ordered one. So far I like it, much better picture than my Pixel XL, thinner and lighter, the squeeze feature is off and hitting the power button twice to get to camera take some getting use to. I keep turning the phone off

How is the battery life on the 3axl?

I just ordered mine. I use total wireless, was able to get a iPhone 6 for 39 bucks on there, traded it in for 250 through Google

I use a pixel 2, somewhat concerned about going to a bigger phone, but my battery life sucks on my 2. I'm going to hold on to my 2 for a bit to make sure I like the 3axl. If I do like it, I've already started a trade in on gazelle for 179 for my 2, so total Cost for my 3axl will be 50 buck.

Also, what is the status on the $100 Google store credit? I never saw it when I checked out

I may have to go for this. I've been a Motorola guy for 6 or 7 years but it seems they have gone down hill. I have a pure x that is 4 years old but I have to reboot once a day and charge it 3 times a day the last 6 months. But I'm cheap.

It takes a couple of months to show up. You have to activate the phone on Fi service, and maintain service for 30(I think) days before you're eligible for it.

Oh, I didn't see anything on the Google store about it being for fi customers only.
