Is the Pixel 3XL that much better than the 2XL?

Looking on Swappa and you can get 2XLs for about 225-230 and the 3XL is more than twice that (around $500-525)
when my Nexus needed replacing a few months ago I went with a MotoG6, which is fine (and was an amazing deal for the $200 i paid for it) but I need a phone with a better camera. i've learned (from 5-6 months with the G6) that i don't really need the most advanced phone in the world
so for people who have experience, am i losing a lot with the 2XL?

Lot of people like pixel 2 more than 3.
Verizon had a sale on new 2s last weekend for $350 shipped, well worth the extra $100 to avoid the 10-20% chance you get ripped off on swappa

They just crashed the price on the 2XL the past week or so.
I wanted a Nexus all the way back to the beginning, but there was always a problem (the war with Verizon, etc.). I finally pulled the trigger with a 3XL in the fall.
Google puts a lot of effort into the software and that software is the secret to the Pixel's great pictures. Your "regular" cell cameras for the 2 and 3 are spec'ed the same. The biggest change with the 3/3XL is the second selfie camera for more zoomed out selfies. I don't use it a lot, but it is a cool feature.
If you're not worried about that right now, the value on the 2XL might be the way forward. They did have bigger bezels on the 2/2XL, too.

The pixel 2xl is a rock solid phone, and for that price it's basically a steal.
