re: Pixel 2 Thoughts?

Lot of reviews hitting youtube today. Mostly positive.

A lot of people's phones shipped today, some XL, no panda that I could tell, but most regular sized ones did.

Mine is scheduled to ship tomorrow, which I hope happens. delivery between this Friday and next Monday. I ordered the all black 5" screen. The S8 was a little big at 5.8" and the XL is full on 6" with more bezel. Yeah, as much as I hate my iPhone 7, the size of the phone is great.

Now I just need to work on Sprint sending me the iSim card. I talked with customer support via online chat and I was told that corporate stores are already stocked with these cards. I'm not sure I believed that...

If they'd just start making camera, speaker, and, nav bar dongles...imagine the screen real estate.

i know the verge is an apple homer site but this article seems unbiased and is concerning. LINK

im not going to be one of those apple sheep who accepts any flaw, so ill be returning the phone if its not up to standard.

$900 phone should not have screen issues.

i went with the 2 XL which is supposed to be the high-end version so one would expect high-end hardware.

one thing im confident in is google offering complete refunds if youre not satisfied but this is potentially concerning.

guess we will not truly know until the device is in our hands.

oh my friend you're in for a treat.

have you ever gotten a PC or laptop with a 'pure windows' experience? probably not..but this is analagous to getting a laptop with 400 ads and trialware shite that keep you from doing what you need to do vs just having the OS on it. have you ever been annoyed by the "register now for full symntec virus checker and recieve my PC registery checker free!!!" that never goes away?

its not quite that bad, but because android is extensible, samsung feels the need to hire developers of their own to rewrite features google has already built and well..they're not that good at it.

Add to that, if google releases a major upgrade to their system..samsung will take the source code & sit on it for 6 months trying to inject all their cusomizations to it and release it about the same time....google releases another update.

pixels are like iphones..as soon as google updates the OS you get an 'update now' option.

customizing the vanilla android OS in any way essentially makes the phone experience crappier IMO.
