Pixel 2 Thoughts?

I just got an S8 and it's great. However, I know what happens to samsung batteries/phones over time. They don't hold a charge and then slow down and eventually work like crap.
I've had this happen with an S3, S5, and S7. Like I said, the S8 is sexy and the screen is nice, but it's a little large for my taste and I'm worried about the S8 turning to crap in a year.
Any of y'all committed to the new Pixel? How has the old Pixel worked out for you guys that had them?
I'm seriously considering turning my S8 in and holding out for the Pixel on 10/17.

I've had the original Pixel XL for about a year now. It's been a solid phone.

I haven't noticed it to be much better or worse than my previous Nexus 6. The new phones have a bigger battery than mine I believe. It'll easily last all day under normal use. I can drain it pretty fast if I'm bored at work and on this site too much

I have hadd a Pixel XL since release last year and it has been great. I pre-ordered the Pixel XL 2 this past Friday (6th) and unfortunately it is not scheduled to ship until the end of November (27th-28th).

fwiw, in the past, those shipping dates in these situations have historically been bumped up a week or two

I had my Pixel XL ship date bumped back earlier this year. Got a free Dreamcast VR headset out of it. Don't use it though.

Wrong. I said frick it and ordered one today. Scheduled for delivery no later than 10/20. Keep in mind this is the non XL.
The s8 is so slick, but after three iterations of Samsung flagship going from good to bad, I just had to give another phone a shot.

Hope so. Was planning on getting it for my wife's birthday at the end of November but I haven't ordered it yet. Was also considering the oneplus 5 for her but of course it's sold out with no ability to back order because oneplus is super shitty about keeping things in stock. Took me six months to get their damned dash car charger.

I ordered the Pixel 2 just now, and it told me it would be delivered by the end of October. I guess it's the Pixel 2 XL that will take a lot longer. I guess higher demand. If I were ordering for myself, I'd definitely get the XL.

Just posted in another thread. I've got the pixel XL. Phone runs just as snappy as the day I got it. Great camera, immediate updates from Google, no bloatware, battery lasts all day on a full charge, full resolution back up of photos to Google photos. My next phone will be a pixel XL 3.

I just ordered the pixel 2xl this morning and the delivery date is October 30th. Did you perhaps order the panda version? That may be why your wait is a lot longer.

Yeah I had another 7 days-ish to return it according to the best buy 14 day return policy. I just went ahead and returned it before I accidentally dropped it or what not. I'm living off my work phone now.
