Official Microsoft Trailer
Windows is slowly turning into a social media platform.
Kinda has that Apple OS look about it.
One thing that is cool is it's native support of Android Apps.
Windows 10 End of Life will be on October, 14th 2025

Welp, i guess with android app support the move to linux kernel is immanent. I wonder how much linux is in this Win11?

I would assume the linux/android apps are sandboxed into a virtual machine. They already support that on Windows 10. It is a natural progression
Windows greatest feature is backwards compatibility with business apps. They wont be breaking that any time soon.

No. Nothing that crappy.

Man, that trailer kinda flared up my Windows Vista PTSD.

The whiteish opaque colors remind me of Win 7 when you don't have accelerated graphics drivers installed. Which feels cheap to me.
The trailer doesn't really show anything that seems new to me.
I'm glad I'm committing to using Linux on the desktop.

all the signs are there. Microsoft will be on a linux kernel in the near future. It is just a matter of when.

This didn't age very well - Windows 10 the last version of windows - the Forever OS.
I trust M$ as much as I trust gov't.

As long as it it's a free upgrade I'm cool with it, it's a similar idea to MacOS and the names versions.
Sometimes you gotta update the base OS and release a whole big deal.

Looks like Windows 11, will be using WSL(2) for supporting Linux and Intel Bridge for natively supporting Android.
Big news is that WSL will finally support running graphical Linux apps directly in Windows.

I think they are gearing up for their cloud based OS to be completely linux.

I could definitely see that, I think most of Azure is running on Linux

My god this is cringey.
The rounded corners and transparency looks a lot like the Windows 7 Aero themes.
I don't like the taskbar changes. The location of the pinned programs are going shift around as other programs are opened and closed. I also prefer the search box to the search icon. Hopefully those things are customizable.
It's cool that it can run Android apps, but it's tied to the Amazon app store

Damned tired of MS trying to be Apple.
And that default “s” mode shite's ridiculous.

So much for Microsoft's previous claim that Windows 10 would be the last version of Windows.
I think we all knew that was bullshite.

Guess what's behind all of that makeup? Windows.

It is just the next patch to Windows 10 with a new name. PC makers wanted a "new" release to sell more computers. You can still put the taskbar to the left. It will be fine!
