Anyone know if there is a forecast or “road map” of when these things might go on sale again ? I know some consumer electronics follow a schedule was wonder if Apple did the same thing.

Apple rarely has sales.

I have the new 14 inch and it's absolutely amazing. This is coming from a $2,500 Windows gaming laptop and a MBP before that.

best buy will periodically run sales. when they do, they also discount their open box items even further. that's where you'll get the best deal.

check out refurb.me

you can filter by what you want and they monitor Apple's refurb site for what you are looking for.

And I have a new 16" MBP, its the best computer I've ever used. Worth every penny.

Education discount for brand new is about the best I’ve seen outside of open box or refurb.

I will also recommend the education store.

There is no verification needed. Just a blurb somewhere on the site that you are using it for education - if you have kids or if you are educating yourself...
