iPhone max too big?

Wife and I are ordering the 13s on Friday and upgrading from a XR
We are both 41 so our eyes are going to shite and wondering if it’s time to get the max
I’ve always heard it’s a chick phone and feels like a brick. I think she’s fine because she can put it in her purse but I’m clumsy and drop/lose my phone once a month. Lol
I’m debating between the 13 pro or pro max. TIA

I wish they made a pro mini. Would love the mini size but I want the pro camera system and refresh rate

I do think it's the upper limits of what I'd consider a portable device. I'd only recommend it to someone that is big on watching movies/videos on their phone or likes playing games all the time.
If your phone is mostly a utility device that you occasionally browse some web pages on, do some banking, check e-mail, etc, then a 6.7" - 8.5 ounce phone is probably overkill.
The "regular" 13 Pro is a better fit for most people I'd think.
Regarding getting older and having trouble focusing on things up close. Get yourself some comfortable reading glasses. Will make a world of difference.

You don;t necessarily need a larger screen. You need larger font size. When you get them in Just go in settings and increase font size. That will help a bunch.

Yes, my wife has a max and I can barely get it in my jean pocket. I dont wear skinny jeans either. I think I'm going to get a mini, but like above I like the specs of the pro.

Back when I bought my XR, it was sort of an in-between size between the X and the X Plus. It was a 6.1 inch screen, and the others were 5.8 inch. Now all of the standard ones from 11 to now are this size, and the mini I think is the size of the old iPhone 8, but with more screen space. I wouldn't want the Max versions, way too much to fit in a pocket.

My 2 cents:
I have had "regular" iPhones since the 7. Last upgrade I went to the 11 Max. Looking to go back to the regular size this go around. I'm a big guy with larger than average hands but it is still hard to navigate the screen with one hand. Also is very awkward in the front pocket.
Probably going to get the 13 Pro when I'm eligible in January.

I purchased the first Max, and found that it was too big/thick and ultimately uncomfortable to carry in my pocket when using a case. I didn’t mind it “naked”, but I always use a case.
The 6.1 is the perfect size IMO.

My old 8 crapped out about 9 months ago and I upgraded to the 12 Pro Max at that time. In the beginning I thought it was a bit too big and hard to handle, but after all this time, I've gotten used to it and it seems normal to me now. On occasion I pick up my wife's regular sized 10 and it seems so tiny to me now. I have no regrets moving up to the max.

Still have the 11 max and is really the perfect size and like someone mentioned the older you get the easier it is to type and read on it

I know. I’m in my car all day and my phone is on a holder on my dash. I’m always using Navigator and text to speech.
That’s why I don’t think the max would bother me

I’m around the same age and have the 11Max. Never had a day where I was thankful it was so large.
Constantly regret not just getting the regular size.

I have the 12 pro max and still have it on zoom mode with increased text size

I have an iPhone 11 for work and I think it's too wide to comfortably hold and use with one hand. I wouldn't go bigger than the 13 Mini.

After using the max for a few years and then using my sons mini it like using a dam iPod and constant scrolling to view entire pages because of the text.

I was sold on getting the mini because phones are ridiculous these days but as my eye sight deteriorates at reading things up close I’m starting to wonder if I should just go for the max next time.
I really hate the idea of having a big phone tho. Maybe there’s a way to increase font sizes without making it crazy big in the accessibility settings.

Almost everyone I've talked to about this gets over it in like 72 hours and likes the larger phone. My wife and mom included.
Going no case or a slimmer case like the Apple silicone or leather helps. I'm sure with some gigantic otter box thing it's massive

I went from XR to 12 Max Pro.
Love it. It chills in my back pocket always. And at my desk at work i have the Mag Safe charger with a stand.
I also have the Apple Leather case so its very streamlined. I will say be careful though its not nearly as protecting as other cases are.

I have the XS Mas and am getting the 13 Max Pro. I have never had an issue with it being too big or not fitting in a pocket, whatever.

I have the 11 pro max and I love it. In terms of the case I’ve had my screen crack once, it was because I had something hard sitting on top of it and it feel on the top of the screen. So the apple cases work really well and they fit the phone too, don’t make it to large.
