iPhone 15 Pro models to be up to $200 more expensive

Ives has a strong track record here, having previously warned of iPhone 14 price rises internationally, something Apple subsequently did, but U.S. customers were spared the same increases. That is expected to change with the iPhone 15 lineup though, with multiple analysts and insiders claiming price rises of up to $200, particularly for iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models.
Ives has not provided a specific figure, but he is (by far) the biggest name to add weight to these price-hike claims. While U.S. buyers will understandably be concerned about this, potentially the biggest shock will be for international customers who could be facing their second successive major price increase.

Going to be so cool to have a few extra pixels for the camera!
What can iPhone 15 do that an iPhone 13 can’t do?
So dumb

That the industry made sure they were heavily involved in standardizing for it and then they only put it on the iPad….

Can’t for the life of me figure out how most Americans afford an iPhone today.
I remember when it was insane they were $500.
I see people with minimum wage jobs and brand new iPhones. It is fricking wild.

Genuine question: can you at a glance tell the difference between an iPhone 12, 13, and 14? Because I sure as hell can’t

And I just checked BestBuy and you can finance an iPhone 14 at 0% for $22/mo for 36 months. Not that I’m saying that’s a smart purchase at minimum wage, but $22 per month isn’t exactly out of reach for even low income people, and I imagine in their minds that’s a small price to pay to be able to walk around with a piece of luxury tech.

Holy frick they upped the loans to 3 years? I feel like just knowing all the things people finance, we are heading for an economic cliff.

To be fair people use their phones more than any other object they own and there's a lot you can do with it. Banking, email, internet, watching movies, even gaming.
Now they could probably still do all of that on a cheaper phone...but if people splurge on one thing, at least it's something they always use.

Honestly my last couple have been mostly subsidized by AT&T trade in promos. I currently have a 14 Pro Max that I'm paying less than $10 a month for after credits kick in. My phone bill with Next plan runs about $112 then my company reimburses $95 of that every month.

I recently bought an Iphone XR for $10 and the next day traded in to Apple for $400 on a Iphone 13 mini. So I paid $209 for the 13 mini.

Where did you find the XR for $10?

They likely can't, they just "Upgrade" into a new phone with a monthly payment for it as well.

If I didn't get a significant trade-in with my old phone, I'd be switching to something cheaper. My rule of thumb is to go 2 years then swap out. I'm at the point I don't have to pay anything monthly.

Fortunately, phones are lasting longer than ever. People that buy every or even every other generation of smartphone are just throwing money away. If you have a phone from say 2019 on, it's already fast, takes great pictures, etc.

Similar here. I used to buy a new one every 3 years or so. Or I would buy them one model behind. T-Mobile was running a good trade in recently, so I traded in both of our iPhone 12 for the 14 Plus. I get $60 per month from work for cell phone. Before that, I traded in a pair of the Xr model on the 12. It was something like half off of the 12. This latest trade in it was basically free. If I had gone with the 14, it would have been, instead I paid the difference to get the larger screen.

I paid $99 for my last upgrade. The one before that I went from a 7+ to a 12 when they offered me $650 and a couple hundred in bill credits for my ancient phone, the rest was 0% but it was like $7 a month... it was worth the upgrade.

I'm thinking about upgrading to the 15, I upgrade every two years it seems. But they'll have to convince me to upgrade. The new phone should have something my current one doesn't have that makes the upgrade worth it. The dynamic island isn't enough IMO.
I know the usbc is a tech that’s been out for a while, but having the ability to use one cord for my iPad Pro, MacBook Pro and iPhone will be nice.

I have a 13 pro max and just see no reason to upgrade. I use wireless for charging so I don't care about usb-c.

On a XS Max, so coming up on 5 years. 5 generations ought to be significant but at the moment I still don't really feel a strong need to upgrade, so I guess I'll see.
