So with AT&T I can trade in my iPhone X and get $800 credit towards the 12 pro. Stupid not to upgrade

you have to have one of their recent unlimited plans to qualify and all of those plans are garbage compared to the unlimited plan i currently have.

But the new unlimited plans are eligible for my work discount where my old plan was not so it’s a wash.

Looks like almost everyone is saying 12pro is a silly buy. Just to get the 12pro max. I’m torn.

I have unlimited choice. Is that different than what they offer now?

Debating switching to IPhone 12 pro max from my Samsung s9plus. I've got att and contract us up so will probably go for it since $800 off.

I'm going with the 12 mini from my 11 pro

There is just no reason for me to justify needing the pro with the upgraded OLED in the 12 now, plus I want the smaller phone.

I am thinking hard about this.

I have the 11 pro and the 12 mini is highly intriguing.

I almost pulled that trigger but got a little worried about battery life.

So how does the $800 discount work? Credit on account or taken off the phone?

AT&T has a great trade in promo right now. As long as your phone is worth $95 you can upgrade and get $800 towards any phone

Was reading the fine print and there’s like 4 or 5 bullet points that need to be met, or is it just one of them? Because one is add a new line, another is upgrade to unlimited and the third is trade in? I’m wondering if anyone knows because we are already on unlimited, and don’t need to add another line. So I’m wondering if I’d still qualify for the $800 credit if I just traded in my 8 plus?

I'm not seeing a compelling reason to switch from my X just yet.

I have a Xs and preordered the regular 12.

The only reason I’m doing so is I think 6.1 is the perfect screen size, and it finally comes in the oled screen. I previously found the old 6.5 inch Max to be too big.

Waiting for the max in November, I like the bump to 128 starting memory

I checked TMO and the Pro starts at 128. Is it different with ATT?

I got the Note 20 Ultra and I’m not totally happy with it and thinking of maybe making the switch to iPhone.i think the phone is a little too big sometimes as well, so wondering if I should just go for the Pro instead of the Max. But there’s some extra goodies with the Max, just not sure I need them.

Why is trading in and upgrading a phone (w/ att) always such an obscure process that lacks clarity. That advertise $800 trade in for my iPhone X so it should look like this:

iPhone 12 pro $999
Trade in credit. -$800
= $199
Upgrade fee $56
Total. $255
7% Tax on $999 $70
$325 due at check out; end off story; nothing added to my bill for 24 months and I agree to stay on ATT for 24-30 months.

instead you go to check out, the trade in credit disappears, you pay upgrade fee of $56 and $30 Is added to your first bill for god only knows how long.

I really want to do this upgrade but I don’t want to get stuck with a monthly fee. I guess I’m going to wait it out.

That's where I'm at as well and they make it such a mystery as to what will be added and for how long.

Until three months from now, your phone bill went from $145 to $230 and you ask why and it's the original $6 monthly fee, plus a mandatory insurance fee, reduction in your rebate for an obscure reason, ATT disloyalty fees, new tv package that you agreed to in fine print, and shipping costs broken up into 30 payments.

Every time I try to order it’s saying I’ll owe $37/month. I’m not sure if something is making me ineligible but I’m not signing up til I know for sure I’ll get the $800 rebate.

It won’t reflect the credit until you complete the trade in. You also need to have the unlimited plan before turning on your new phone.
