BB10 was way ahead of the other OS's on several features. Hence the problem. It was so drastic that it turned off users. My Senator loved his blackberry but then that swipe only OS came out, the buttons were removed, and he was suddenly lost. Finally switched to Iphone. Imagine Iphone going to all gestures and removing home button suddenly. WOuldn't go over too well.
Then BB fell behind in developing an ecosystem and attracting app developers. Having your tablet, cloud, phone, and laptop all synced together is a big deal. Much bigger than just an OS.

I would use gmail or outlook apps. Never liked apple's mail app.

I was running the beta but a critical app I use does not work under IOS 13 and they have not updated it yet.
I did move away from Outlook and started using Spark on the Ipad and quite pleased.
Going to install it on the phone next.

I used outlook for a while but started to have issues within the past year or so. I switched over to Edison Mail and it is pretty awesome. No complaints.

I’m up to 13.1.1 and mail still sucks and they added a stupid bedtime alarm entry that you cannot delete. The new features aren’t good enough to add the worthless new features that no one wanted.
Another annoyance is text selection. They fricked with it for some reason and it’s a lot more cumbersome to select and copy text

What's different about it? Not a feature I use much but it seems the same to me...

I’m not big on the Memojis either, but it seems easy to ignore.

I’m not sure how many people had the screen stutter issue on the iPad pros, but my 11” from last year hasn’t done it at all anymore since 13 has come out. I felt like it was always worse with the pencil attached but still nothing there.

What phone?
On my 11 Pro I’m not necessarily having issues, but they did modify it and it is annoying. It defaults to selecting a word vs placing the cursor. Also the act of placing the cursor is difficult as the cursor hovers under your finger (like before when you long pressed the keyboard).
It certainly different than before. Not necessarily a problem often, but definitely different.

I have a funny feeling when 13 came out, it has screwed up my sd card reader. It no longer works on my phone when I use it. Put I can use it on the iPad and it works perfectly fine.
Did some searching and supposedly updates can cause the card reader to no longer work. Weirdest damn thing.
