Hoping I can find a good deal on a tv that will be on my back patio. Been wanting to upgrade to 100inch so I can have a 4 way split for game with four 50 inch games

Anybody know of any good deals that may be happening soon?

Do any TVs of any size cost more than $400 now?

Seems one the size I’m looking is gonna be in the 1500 range. Hoping I can maybe snag something at 1000. It doesn’t have to be the best pic in the world. Just good enough for an evening movie and football.

Good god, I thought I was joking!

It's truly amazing how cheap this shite is.

That's likely to be a very shitty TV, but that might be what you want for outside as long as it gets bright enough and doesn't have significant glare. Whats the brand and model?

Possibly, $1500 on black friday will get you an upper-tier budget model at 98 or 100.

Not sure about upcoming sales, but I recently put a cheap TV on my back patio. Even though there are 7 feet of covered area between it and the outside elements, it still shows a decent amount of glare on a sunny day. If I had it to do over again, I'd pay far more attention to a glare-reducing model (like many Samsungs).

I'd be sure to make sure you have mounting squared away first and that your patio is sealed so you dont get any breeze.

How do you plan on splitting the screen and managing sound? Might be better to just have 4 cheap TVs. More control over the screens/games and sound plus you can swap out if one goes bad and would likely be cheaper than a single 100". You only mention being able to watch 4 things at once, but of course the above wouldn't be great if you wanted to watch one thing really big.

Don't know OP's plan but I regularly use the 4 game multiview on YouTubeTV. You just choose the game you want to hear by highlighting it with the d-pad on the remote, and you can select one to fullscreen it then escape back to the 4 game view.

right i guess im thinking about situations outside of a specific native app feature. like if you wanted 2 games from YTTV and 2 things from something else. Or if you dont have youtubetv to handle the splitting.

I already have a 65 mounted out there. Would just switch the brackets to the new tv.

As for weather I plan to get a weather cover for the times I don’t use it.

FuboTV allows me to split into 4 screens. Whichever is highlighted has sound. Pretty easy actually.

man, I'd be kind of surprised if TVs natively offer this setup.

yeah, you'd maybe need a couple more pieces of equipment, if your sound does not come from the TV, but would have absolute control. However, it looks like OP is satisfactorily covered with the app(s) they use handling it. And of course, if you wanted to watch something with all 100" then the multiple screen method is no longer the more economical option. Personally I run a 65" with two 32" satellite TVs for this.

I will formally rescind my suggestion.

I dont think you understand how much weight, leverage and wind load a large TV set is going to have. Dont be surprised if it gets ripped right out the studs. It is not comparable to 65".

A 98/100" panel at that price, even on Black Friday, is going to be edge lit and while I know you say you are not expecting the best picture the larger a panel gets the more issues you have when they are edge lit. You also need to go and check out how the bottom end panels handle motion which will be important to you for sports.

I am going to blast your budget to pieces but I suggest you look at the Hisense U8K 100" while it is still around. It has a lot of local dimming provided with mini-LEDs, Quantum dots for excellent color, very high brightness (independent testing has shown it up around 3000 nits which is very useful outside) and handles motion very well with its 144hz panel. IMO it is the best value in a 100" set and it is miles better than the current $2K sets. I expect the BF deals to be in the $1500 range not $1k. $2k has been the best price all year for them.

it would be crazy to spend that much on an outdoor TV. They dont tend to last more than a few years at best.

I had two 75 inch Samsungs on my back porch at my last house and one of the screen fell of at 12 months

Sucks having to spend another $1000 to replace the TV after a year.
