My current thermostat has be giving me problems and I am about to buy a new one but the lady wants to get one like the nest or similar where she can adjust with her phone when we are gone. What are the best ones on the market I have done some research but they all seem to have there own problems. Any advice would help.

Very happy with my Nest (s).

can you adjust it with 2 different phones cause i read one review saying it only works with one phone?

I have an ecobee 4. Works great.

yes, you can have multiple people added to control the Nest.

Love having a smart thermostat. We have had a Nest for a few years. Can be controlled by multiple phones (yes sometimes that leads to thermostat wars...)
A few things we like about it:
- turn heat on from bed upstairs in the morning before getting up
- setting system. To a very efficient setting before leaving in a trip and then remotely turning heat or cool on when returning from a trip so that the house is comfortable when we get home
- monitor house temp and humidity levels remotely (out of town or even just lazy arse on the couch)

I have Honeywell thermostats. Work great. I love to log in when I'm traveling and adjust my bedroom down to 60 degrees just to frick with my wife!

Happy with our Nest thermostat. Love being able to crank up the heat without having to get out of bed on a cold night.

I have 2 ecobee’s. Really happy with them. Just installed a Honeywell at my wife’s work. Honeywell interface is pretty simple. Ecobee is really slick as well $100 for the Honeywell, ecobees are a little more $$. I don’t think you could go wrong with either. One of the ecobees had a problem, tech support couldn’t resolve, sent me a new one for free.

What is the difference between ecobee lite and regular ecobee. We just moved and i hate these crappy trane thermostats. Want a smart one that i can use with echo. Was going with ecobee but saw sensi and those are intriguing.

I've had the nest e for about 6 months. Works great. Easy to control with 2 phones and our Google homes. Only thing is it take some time to learn your routine, so the first month or so expect weird temp changes

Only difference on their website comparison is no built in occupancy sensor in the lite. I have a 3 and a 3 lite and can’t honestly tell any difference between the 2. If you have an amazon Alexa you can tell it to change thermostat settings. It’s easier to just use the app imho

I would keep it basic with something like a Honeywell wifi until you replaced your HVAC system.
At that point step up to a communicating HVAC system and associated WiFi thermostat.
Nest and other 3rd party thermostats are not great products.

I haven’t really done much research, but do these smart thermostats actually save money and energy? Or are they just techy and a cool thing to have?
