What materials are these cab's made from? Particleboard? MDF possibly for later made cabs (really late 80s or 90s)

they're MDF.

i would rather pay an extra $100 for the refreshed pacman cabinet. Looks pretty cool.

also have you seen these?

Can you suggest some 128gb files for RetroPI? I think I am going to try one with the RetroRama UI theme on it, but I would love to try others that people recommend.

I bought two Cabinets today. StreetFighter to mod from Marshalls and fell in love with the Marvel SuperHeroes to keep original.

I cannot wait to start the mods for Streetfigher.

here's what i have so far:

8GB vertical arcade games only (look for mburns)
32GB arcade only
32GB arcade (arcade1up tweaks)
64GB arcade (arcade1up tweaks)
128GB wolfonoz (arcade1up tweaks)

i'll have to look up the exact names when i get home. its definitely important to go with one designed for 1up cabs because some of the others are preconfigured for 16:9 monitors and its a PITA to go in and change the settings for the 4:3/5:4 1UP displays

Thanks for the list. I look forward to the actual names.

Dragons Lair and Space Ace are a must. Are these two games included in the arcade ones you listed? Am I correct to assume the standards like Ms PacMan, Joust, Defender etc are included with almost any packs.

yep. all there. any image file 8GB or larger has room for all old school arcade games and that includes the laserdisk games.

joust is a blast. my 5yo and i have played that more than anything.

How much did the streetfighter run you? I assume it’s the 1st or 2nd generation without a riser?

Search on this page for:

[8gb]-mburns.vertical
[32gb]-Hursty.1Up.Arcade.2019.FINAL-Wolfanoz
[32gb]-Wolfanoz_ArcadeOnly
[64gb]-Kio_Supreme_1up
[128gb]-Retrorama.Arcade1Up.Remix-RivalBoss

There are 3 400GB images on this page. I bet one of these is the one the person above got.

17" dell I picked up for $15 at computer graveyard store.

Cracked it open and mounted it directly to the 1up display frame

I’d say he’s at about the same age I was when I was mesmerized by seeing joust in the supermarket.

I gotta say, I was super tempted by the rampage cabinet after seeing that it had rampage, joust, and gauntlet. Gauntlet was one of my faves growing up but then finding out it was only 2 player on that cabinet was disappointing.

Does anyone know if a rom out there allows 4 player gauntlet?

get the TNMT cabinet that already has 4 player controls and then mod it with a full mame imageb and you can play anything you want.

Well looks like my plan might have taken a step back. I was on arcadepunks and someone mentioned Time Crisis. I somehow overlooked that arcade shooters are some of my favorites and would love to figure out how to put it all in one cabinet, but I'm so new to this, so not even sure that's feasible.

It's very feasible, lots of arcade shooter MAME cabs as well. One of the big reasons I went old school cab refurb with a CRT. They have better tech for LCD available now too.

I have an AimTrak, works with CRT and LCD.

I have a few piece of ultimarc gear including trakball, spinner, and the ipac.

You are probably moving away from a retropie setup to a more traditional PC based MAME cab though for easier setup, options, and ability to play newer more powerful games.

Yeah I think so too. I was initially going Pi for the cost and simplicity, but I don't want to be limited. Honestly, if I could just get the latest Time Crisis, that's probably all I'd play. But I have to consider my son and wife.

Can you guys recommend a semi-affordable gaming PC that could handle all of this?
