AT&T data limits on home internet?

Or any provider for that matter, is this really a thing? We cut the cord (Direct) but we have AT&T for Internet and those frickers promised us when we upgraded our internet that we would have no limits, yet our first bill came and low and behold we have a 1,000GB limit. We have used 80GB with 28 days left in the month. My wife is dealing with them Shi'ite Muslims now but I was wondering if anyone else has limits? If so, do you stream and do you come close to your limit?
So they are closed but they have a chat feature online, she was dealing with Aaron B. Well, Aaron B. Could tell my wife was mad so he called us up and he was an Indian as they come. Do they not do any business in the US anymore? frick!
And yes, I'm mad.

Unfortunately most of our useless customer service and tech support reps are based overseas. Next time you call try selecting the Spanish option. I've heard you may possibly get a better speaking English rep as opposed to Aaron B from Mumbai.

The 1 Gbps Gigapower version has no data cap. Over here in Houston, Comcast has a 1 TB limit. at&t has a 1 TB limit on the 100 Mbps Gigapower tier. I forget if it lowers any on the 75, 45, 24, 18, etc. connections.

When I originally signed up with AT&T I had now limit. When I cut the cord about 3 months ago I upgraded the internet and that added the 1K GB limit to my account. I was upset at first but I have never even been close to hitting that limit. And that's with multiple iPhones, 2 firsticks, and streaming PS Vue all the time. Not even sure if I hit 500 GB yet.

Thanks for the responses all!
That's where I am, exact same scenario but when my wife called and upgraded our internet she was promised unlimited and 60 for 2 years. Our first bill only shows a year. We had 3 separate emails sent to us confirming our new package and I be damn if every single one of them didn't show the 1000gb limit. And every single time my wife and called and supposedly got it taken care of. Every single time they said it is fine, it will not show up on your bill. And here we are with our first bill.
I am convinced of two things, (1)they will tell you whatever to make you happy regardless if it is true and (2) they prey on old people and the unaware.
To the rep above, every single tech I have had in my home has been awesome! You guys are great but the customer service is the worst thing. I have ever had to deal with.

I have my internet through Mediacom and my data limit is 999GB per month on 100Mbps down / 10Mbps up ($59.99 per month). It's myself, my wife, & two teenagers in this home. We have Netflix, VUDU, & Amazon Prime.
Suffice to say, we stream a lot. Pretty much all day while we're home. My last 3 bills showed 373.3GB, 461GB, & 372GB of usage.
I realize they told you it would be unlimited data, but now it shows a 1000GB cap. They should honor what they told you, but I don't think you'll ever get close to touching your cap if that makes you feel any better.

I appreciate it Kevin! Dealing with these people is seriously bad for my health.

Have a family of 5 all with devices and like to stream.
I don't think we ever went over 500.

How did you put up 80 GB in 2 days? I can play online video games and stream movies all day on the weekend and not put up anywhere near that
But yea I agree, providers are crap now. Hidden data limits are absurd. And every company either cuts you off at some point and charges you for overages, or they throttle your speeds past a certain point (more than they normally throttle them anyway). Internet and cell service providers are all crap, unfortunately the infrastructure is so expensive that it's hard for anyone else to get into the game to push them for better service and better rates

lol at people ripping AT&T for a 1GB limit.
Nobody ever goes over that. Also if you have DTV its unlimited.

You're confused about the limit size. Point being, files will continue to increase in size, and we eventually will start hitting that limit. I doubt providers raise the limit when that happens without a fight though

I am not sure how we put that up but our account is showing 80 used with 28 days left. Granted, it showed that yesterday with 27 too. I hope everyone is right, I hope we never sniff the 1,000gb, but my point remains, I have never heard of home internet having caps and AT&T is still the worst company in the world to deal with.

What in the world are you doing to burn 1TB of data in one billing cycle?
I have 3 apple TV , ipad, 2 laptops, wifi washer/dryer, Hue System, 1 Workstation where I play Computer Games, plus an XBOX One, and NEST and don't even sniff that kind of consumption lol!

This is why Net Neutrality is huge. If it is done away with data caps will get even worse.

LMAO wtf yall downloaded 4k pron or some shite?
I stream Netflix/Hulu/HBO Go religiously...
I even sometimes pull PCAP's from the Network (10 minutes of network traffic goes into the GB range) when I work from home.
The inner Network nerd must know what yall are doing lmao

I used to stream (recently signed up for direct tv however) and would average about 280gb a month.

First person I have seen switch back, what made you switch? Only difference I have noted is obviously convenience and sporting events are a good minute of two behind.

what the frick are you complaining about then? You're not even close.
I have a 1000GB limit, although they say they don't enforce it, on my Cox internet. We have 6 TV's that stream, as well as my wife playing on her phone, me working from home and the kids playing on tablets from time to time.
cut the cord about a year and a half ago. Most data I've ever used was around 800Gb, and I know I am a very heavy user. most months we are around 500Gb.
