Windows primarily because my job requires it, plus gaming, even though Linux is gettng better, is still not quite where it needs to be compared to Windows.
Nothing against MacOS, it just doesn't fit any of my needs.

Since
My wife has a Mac for her work, and I can do NOTHING on it. (not even change the size of the windows....)
That being said, my first introduction to computers was when I started working on Apple ]['s in 1980 or 81.

Not sure how spilling coffee on a computer shows how good it is, but anyway.
I'm against closed ecosystems that limit choice.
Macs are decent but they are the most closed system and the prices are stupid for what you get. You will do what Tim Apple wants.
On the Windows side you have the flexibility to build a PC exactly how you want but Windows privacy and usability (account required, user telemetry collection, forced updates, etc) is getting worse.
These days Linux desktop distros are great and my preferred choice.

You aren't forced into using a Microsoft account with Windows. I have never used one. I know it takes a little digging, but forced updates can be turned off. You just get annoying notifications about needing an updated

Don't use W11 and don't really plan to any time soon

Windows hands down. No other operating system supports the variety of software and hardware that Windows does.
Also I hate spambots but it's fine that this one sparked this debate up again.

Mac, but I'm only a zealot about it to the extent some dork starts rambling about how I'm a sheep who should build my own computer and use a Samsung phone

Here's a pre-pandemic quote that didn't age well. And for the record, Steve Jobs's fortune is going towards political "charity" BS too thanks to Laurene Powell Jobs.
Since my last post in this thread, I've gone full Gentoo Linux master race, and I'm not looking back.

Windows and have only used an Apple II.
I took a job where IBM ATs available and started using Windows without any exposure since to the Mac OS.

My phone is Apple because I don't need it to do very much, but what it does, I want it to do every time without fail.
My computers are Windows, because I'm ok with them failing on occasion, as long as they will do exactly what I tell them to do, even if what I'm telling it to do is a terrible idea.
My computers aren't Linux because I don't find it fun to fight with an OS just to get a AAA game working.
