That's one thing I just don't get is why Android phones can't send or receive a video with a decent resolution.
They can. I can send/receive crystal clear videos with other Android users. But when an iPhone user sends me video it looks like shite.

The question you should ask is why won't Apple, AT&T, Verizon, etc. support anything newer than 15 year old tech (MMS) when it comes to cross-platform messaging? Google and Android are ready & waiting on everyone else to catch up.

its amazing to me people with iphones really think android phones cant send clear videos. they actually think its the android os that is the problem.

It is fast, it is more customizable, but it's also much more unrefined compared to iOS. And I don't think the tight and seamless integration of iOS with every other Apple product can be beat.

Well, that's just like, your opinion man. I am interested in knowing what you find "unrefined". I think it's just different than you're used to.

I have a Mac for work but otherwise no apple products to integrate with

C'mon over.. the water is fine.
And you don't have to ask Apple for permission

But you do actually have to go out of your way to prevent them from hijacking your text messages.

I made the switch to the pixel 3 over a year ago. Im good with the change, wife hates it. Mainly because she hated change.

Few notes: Android Auto sucks compared to Apple's Auto app. I'm constantly having issues

Make sure you get your iMessages turned off. They screwed my wives up at Verizon and we had to go back twice because she wasn't getting texts/calls

Yes this is a glaring weak spot also. It's terrible.

I made the switch last year to the Galaxy S10+. The only issue I ran into were some group texts I was in using iMessage. Even though I disabled it a few days before I switched and de-registered it still messed up on some, but not all. Currently I use Google Messages which allows me to send high quality photos and videos, plus it can send over WiFi. I hate Apple's closed ecosystem.

App or the integration to a head unit? Cause I carry both and iPhone XR and a Oneplus 7 pro every day and ym head unit does both. Of the two my preference is Android Auto. That's normally the one I plug into the head unit in day to day use.

Not after 6 months or so. It's aesthetic thing. It just seems amateurish, like it's 2-3 versions behind iOS.

As for integration all the little things add up. Example, when you get a security access code texted to you, it automatically appears in your web browser box so you don't have to type it in. Just hit enter.

Not sure if Android does this cause I don't really use Chrome much

Hell you want to talk about seamless, how bout you cant even text on a computer with ios unless you have a mac? That's kind of ridiculous in 2020.

fwiw, i think ios is a great OS, but let's not pretend it's superior when it isnt.

I think if Apple just opened up iMessage to android/the world and charged a 2.99 fee per month, EVERYONE would swap to imessage.

I just switched from 6 years of android to an iPhone 11. I got it free with T-Mobile so that was the only reason for the switch. Overall it is a nice phone, but not really better than my pixel 3aXL.

iPhone is maybe a little faster opening apps, but it’s not noticeable in everyday use.

iMessage is overhyped, I don’t really text videos much though so I I guess that’s the big difference.

Keyboards suck on iOS. I hate not having a dedicated number row, and I hate the adaptive keyboard that changes based on what app I am in. I want the same keyboard all the time. And I want a number row, and to be able to long press symbols.

Battery life is great on the 11, but it was great on my 3aXL also

Pics are about the same, but videos are better on my iPhone for sure

I have experienced a lot of hiccups on my 11, which makes me question the “it just works” crowd. I have had a couple of screen freezes that have required a forced restart (which I had to google how to do since they made it way more difficult than it had to be)

Notifications are fine on iOS, I’ve always heard this as a complaint, but they seem ok to me

I hate not being able to setup my home screen the way I want. As phones become bigger and bigger it is beyond stupid to force all apps towards the top of the screen. I have created some blank icons to move my apps down, but that messes up having a cool background

Siri sucks compared to the GA. It’s not even close. Especially when I am connected to Bluetooth in my truck and it forces Siri through as a call. I tried to use GA on my 11 but it doesn’t integrate as well so now I just don’t use voice assistants at all. I now have to pickup my phone way more while driving

Overall, I like the 11. I’ll probably stay with it for a while. I still have my pixel, so I may switch back at some point.

That's a good, unbiased take.

I'm an Apple user (everything) but I've switched back and forth with android until the last few years.

There was a hardware gap, but it's not there anymore really. When I was going back and forth Android tended to do things well before Apple. They were kinda sloppy and ugly and clunky, but Apple would take like 3 cycles to roll out something Android was doing for a couple of years. It would be polished and more enjoyable than Android's variant, but probably more limited too.

GA is much much better than Siri, although Siri is gaining ground. Same for Maps.

I'll probably stay with Apple because I have no real incentive to go back to Android, but I wouldn't be upset if I had to for some reason.

its funny how the applefags think they are cool because of some green text thing. What a bunch of dorks.

I was speaking in the context of a current apple user and the changes they'd encounter.
