Will he be back there next year, and if not what kind of a jump is he expected to make?

It’s going to be interesting to see how Berhalter uses Aaronson in WCQ. I think his style and abilities translate really well to what we need to succeed, particularly against a team like Mexico, and I’m not sure you can afford to use him solely as an impact sub. If you disagree, fine and understood, we have enough quality where arguments for others are valid. But if you agree, how do you fit him in and who do you leave out?

In terms of Nations League, it'll likely be a battle between Reyna and Aaronson to see who starts on the wing opposite of Pulisic. We've just gotten to the point where quality players are going to be left out. Aaronson is a possible starter on the wing, but also probably one of the top 2 subs for either McKennie and Musah.

For me he's second choice left wing behind Pulisic. We don't need to force him into the first choice 11. It's great to have another capable winger especially this WCQ cycle where we will have 3 matches per window. There will be lots of rotation

I love watching Aaronson play. If you made me pick between him or Reyna right now I’m taking Aaronson. Perhaps Reyna is more talented, but he’s not an animal like Aaronson. It’s hard to judge based on the different levels they’re competing at, but you know for sure Aaronson is always going flat out frick all. In Berhalter’s system of pressing and winning balls back quickly he might be a better fit than Reyna at the moment....but I’ve never seen Aaronson play on the right, and Gio does regularly. So maybe that’s a deciding factor.
I also think Aaronson’s passing ability is underrated. he might be a better fit in a more central role. Being able to create from the midfield is one thing I’m concerned about with this group. it might be that we now have enough creative individual talent on the wings, and with fullbacks pushing forward that it won’t be a huge issue, but is there anyone on this team that can pick a pass like bradley? Definitely not Tyler, haven’t seen enough of musah and mckennie eh not sure.

I like your thoughts. I would add that Pulisic, Aaronson, Reyna, and to an extent Weah all will drift inside in Berhalter’s system, interchanging with the dual 8’s/10’s more centrally. If Aaronson starts on the wing I would expect him to still spend plenty of time centrally.

Not surprising but looks like Sargent’s leaving Bremen

I feel like this will be asked a lot, regarding American players lol, but I wonder if Jesse Marsh would have any interest in bringing Sargent to Leipzig? Surely he wouldn’t be too expensive.

Leipzig just lost 2 CBs, so he should look at getting Richards.

Gregg has been in contact with Flach about potentially representing us at the Gold Cup.

you’ve gone and done it now
Aaronson needs to be in the 11, and I don’t particularly care who needs to dropped to make it happen. we’re in lockstep that he just has more dog in him

Of course Aaronson is destined to have a howler now if he plays.

I feel good about him accepting a call up.

Josh Cohen won player of the season in Israel.

I don’t see why he wouldn’t. He most recently played with our youth teams and was excited about playing for us at the U20 World Cup until it got canceled.
