Ok, it just seems like it should just be a little more rigidly timed or at least “displayed”. I don’t watch soccer enough to know, but maybe there is some controversy every now and then.
Such a huge contrast to basketball, where the last 20 seconds take about 20 minutes, then we’re staring at milliseconds at the end.

It's just futile to try to view the timing of a soccer game that way. Even if there's no additional stoppage time within the stoppage time, it's not uncommon for refs to allow a game to linger if the announced time comes and goes but there's a team on the attack. They'll usually wait until the attack fizzles out to end the game. It's a much more fluid structure than a hard time limit.

The Norwegian defense has looked suspect from the beginning, IMO. You could just feel them giving up one eventually.
