All I'll say is I'm glad it's unlikely we match up with France until very late in the tournament. We have absolutely no answer for the speed of their runs. They made Senegal look slow.

I thought it crossed in real time but pretty clear it wasn't too close in the replay

I can see Tim Ream locking Kylian Mbappe away in his pocket right now

Goal line technology. They have almost instant communication if the entire ball crosses the goalline, which it did not.

Someone please help me understand why the game sometimes doesn’t end after 90 minutes plus stoppage time? It seems to end whenever the official says it does. How is not highly controversial? Just like the France game just now, 8 minutes of stoppage time expired, France slowly took the ball back to mid field, and seemed like it should have ended there. It didn’t. They played for almost another mi minute and a half.

Not sure what you are asking
I was just asking earlier that if the ref stated there was no contact that would have resulted in Mbappé falling when he popped up looking for a foul, why that wouldn't constitute a simulation penalty. I genuinely don't understand all the technicalities but based on the written rule exaggerating contact when there was no contact in order to draw a foul is supposedly a penalty. Wasn't sure if it was the refs discretion or if he can say he didn't call contact nor can he 100% say there was no contact so it's a 'call stands' situation like we see in NCAAF/NFL where it can't be proven either way so play on with the call on the field.

Any act that takes up in game time when the ball is not in play will be added.

Injuries
Goals and celebrations
Cards
Video reviews

And now auto 3 minutes added for “hydration breaks.”

Edited to add substitutions.

Senegal and France scored so there was stoppage time inside stoppage time.

Think of it this way: the amount of stoppage time announced at the end of regulation is the MINIMUM amount of stoppage time. Any additional stoppages during stoppage time will result in additional stopage time.

Zlatan's head enters the room 5 minutes before he does.

Norway's kit is badass. Just the flag with Viking fonts for the name and numbers. No need to "Nike" it up.
