What a match.

Japan were very good. So organized in the midfield and at the back.
Sitting in a low block for 90+ minutes against a team like Brazil is tough though.

This replay shows the costly turnover at 5 seconds.
Most of the clips left it out on the replay (understandably why)

They're the best team on that side
Since when has that mattered when it comes to England?
They're always the best team in (Group, Side, Tournament) and they always shite the bed.
It's kind of what they're known for.

Japan is world class players away from being a juggernaut. They always play as a cohesive unit and run their asses off, they just don't have any game changers

Also feels like sometimes the players dont trust themselves enough to take players on one on one. That could be a negative side effect of being all in on team first. There isnt always a better pass than the chance taking on a defender will provide.

You're blaming this on the goalkeeper?

The defenders all looked at Bruno there and the two right sided defenders let Martinelli drift in between them. Just one moment of poor defending.

Suzuki is great. He was born in the States, wish we had him on our squad rather than what we have in goal. Our pool of keepers is limited to MLS talent

How did this happen? GK was always one of our strongest positions.

What were those 3 defenders doing on that last goal? All ball watching and just letting the 1 player that they needed to defend sit there wide open at the 6 yard box. It was literally 4 v 8 for that goal.

It's actually worse. Once Bruno gets the ball it is 7 v 2 there. 4 players around Bruno then the 3 just standing there not marking Nelli.

They switched off for a moment. The Japanese player stole the ball, they didn't expect him to then lose it without a fight immediately after.

I doubt it.
The Japanese don't have a big issue with black people or white people really. Homogeneous society, yes. But they're really only prejudiced towards other Asians.
He'll be fine. It's not like he's Korean or Chinese.
