The Dutch get eliminated by a native Dutch Moroccan.

You talking about Saibari? I wouldn't really count that.

Ismael Saibari was born on 28 January 2001 in Terrassa, Spain, to a Moroccan family of Riffian Berber heritage with origins in Ksar el-Kebir.[1] Saibari's parents initially moved from Morocco to Spain and later from Spain to Belgium and finally to the Netherlands.

Saibari began his youth career in Spain and Belgium, spending time at K Beerschot VA, Anderlecht, K.V. Mechelen and Genk, before moving to the Netherlands to join PSV Eindhoven on 29 July 2020

Since 1982, every loss the Dutch have had in the knockout stages has either been on penalties or a by a single goal.

Maybe they should stop parking the bus and playing for penalties

Morocco the past 4 years is arguably the best African team of all time.

That said, it is wild to me that Koeman fricking plays terrorist ball with the quality of their midfield and attackers. It ain't days if old Netherlands but jesus, getting out played by an African side.

Too be fair,;the Moroccan side is one of the most European ones in the tournament

Every player was born in France, Spain, and The Netherlands

That's the issue. If you play your way and lose thats one thing. Completely switching tactics (after being the highest scoring Euro team in WC qualifying) when you get to the knockouts is just pussy shite. They outplayed a good Japan team with their group stage tactic and didn't even attempt to play tonight.

Ran everything through Dumfries and Criscensio fricking Summerville when they did try something.

The Dutch have gone to at least extra time (some went to PKs like tonight) now 8 times in the World Cup

They've advanced just once out of those 8

Morocco’s midfield is unbelievable.

The USMNT midfield plays the same way. A big reason for their success.

Yep. All their best players.

18 born in Europe. Too lazy to look at the breakdown but mostly Spain, France, Netherlands, Belgium (missed this one earlier)

7 born in Morocco and their goalie Bono in Canada but raised in Morocco

Let’s talk about how horrible the best soccer players in the world are st taking a PK. If you can’t st least put it on frame- you are not a professional. From 12 yards out you should make a Pk every single time. This BS where the approaching kicker doesn’t have to move in one fluid motion towards the ball is f’ing the PK taker up more than it is the goalie. While goalies are now committing to one side the PK taker should be side net every time. Super exciting day in this World Cup!!!’

It seems goalies have adjusted to the stutter step and dont dive early yet the kickers still try it and end up fricking up because eventually they have to kick the ball

Thats what I'm saying. They dont lose in regulation. Haven't lost a group stage match in a long time either. Just a terrible set of circumstances for them. They always make it to final whistle pretty much, and just never get past.

Some real tired legs out there by minute 120+ as well. Not to mention the immense pressure of taking a pen in the World Cup!

Yeah it was appalling how defensive the Dutch played that match
