definitely a better goal to break it on than a PK

Probably the craziest thing about Messi getting the record is that 12 of the 17 goals came after he turned 30.

I wonder if Argentina have become too reliant on Messi for goals
It works for them now but even the best teams have games where they get shut down
Last time they had many contributions from Alvarez and Lautaro was more active

Or that he’s missed three PKs, so easily could have more.

Mbappe might pass him up in the long run, anyway.

Mbappe likely will pass Messi in World Cup goals, but certainly not his all time goals, and Mbappe is only 1/5th of the player Messi is.

Today should be good. Competitive game so far, with Messi breaking the WC goals record. France, Iraq is a bit of an underrated game.

Norway Senegal should be an awesome, high scoring game. I can easily see a 3-2, or 3-3 type of game there.

I wouldn't surprise me if this tournament ends with MBappe having the lead.

I think you’re over engineering an argument here. The point was about WC goals overall.

Then yes, you are right because it’s almost a certainty Mbappe passes Messi in that department.

After the 2014 World Cup, Leo Messi and Landon Donovan had played in three World Cups apiece and each had 5 total World Cup goals, with Donovan scoring his 5 in 12 matches and Messi scoring his 5 in 15 matches.

Was that Shakira's son trying to make out with her in that suite? Or was that a very young boyfriend?

They can only turn a wrongfully given corner to a goal kick, not the other way around.
