Why on earth are 1/2 of quarterfinal games the times they are?

7/9 - Thursday 4PM
7/10 - Friday 3PM
7/11 - Saturday 5PM
7/11 - Saturday 9PM
The Saturday double header is good. But why on earth are the Thursday and Friday games at 3 and 4? We’re at the point where there’s only one game a day except Saturday. So why not have those in prime time? I guess the international audience so they can watch?

Catering to the European audience for a North American world cup.

I forget the USA is not in fact the center of the universe. Thank you all!

They knew none of the host countries were making it that far so who cares

Thursday Friday QF games being in the afternoon is absolutely absurd
Friday's game will still be 9pm in London, not exactly primetime
The scheduling inconsistency from day to day has been awful

Well, at this point 6 of the 8 teams are from Europe and 7 of 8 are from the Eastern Hemisphere so it seems like maybe they were on to something.

It’s the optimal window

Fair or not, it kinda is.
A lot of the world was happy we lost last night.
Every country's news has Trump front and center.

That’s why they had the drama over the England-Mexico kickoff time… they didn’t know whose audience to cater to and in the end they chose Mexico for that game

FIFA did themselves no favors with the scheduling for example look at Monday, June 29 they had 3 matches. Brazil & Paraguay are 1 hour ahead of EDT, Morocco is 5 hours ahead, Germany & Netherlands are 6 hours ahead, and Japan is 13 hours ahead.
You'd have thought if you were trying to accommodate the largest group of viewers you would have flipped the Brazil v Japan match the Netherlands v Morocco.
Was:
Brazil (2pm) v Japan (2am) - 1pm
Germany (10:30pm) v Paraguay (5:30pm) - 4:30pm
Netherlands (3am) v Morocco (2am) - 9pm
Should have been:
Netherlands (7pm) v Morocco (6pm) - 1pm
Germany (10:30pm) v Paraguay (5:30pm) - 4:30pm
Brazil (10pm) v Japan (10am) - 9pm
Local times in parenthesis note for Brazil using BST which is like 93% of their population.

I've enjoyed all the tv shots from European countries partying and celebrating at 2am or 4am!

Trump should cut all money going to those countries and use it to develop US Soccer.
