Why can’t there just be penalty kicks at end of regulation if there’s a draw?

Finished the Spurs game. Ties are so garbage. It’s the only part of the game I hate. Too American in me sometimes.

Seriously, why can’t you just have penalty kicks after the game if it’s tied? If it’s an issue of too much play then just do kicks.

Stupid post is stupid

Why reward a team with a chance to win that held on for dear life to get a point

Don’t be rude. Ties are dumb. You play to win. Not to tie.

Penalty kicks are objectively one of the worst ways to decide a winner already, I absolutely hate them in tournaments/knockouts. It would ruin the domestic leagues if it were implemented for every game.

To SCH point, you'd be potentially rewarding teams for holding on for dear life or just parking the bus at the end of a game.

How about you name a champion that doesn't even play every team.

Well, sometimes there are draws which feel like wins and draws that feel like losses and then draws where you are happy to get a point and draws which haunt your dreams for the next 15 years. frick you Martin Taylor and Birmingham City.

Draws are a god send especially when your team gets screwed over by the refs and gets someone sent off, which happens often. It’s a great feeling to earn a point with only 10 players

Why can't there be constant commercial breaks too? I like to watch about five seconds of athletic competition before i get hit with five minutes of commercials. Turn this game over to Roger Goodell. He will be particularly good with VAR.

At the Pro Level, after another period of play representative of the actual game. So did college, but then it moved to this new system with 2 pointers because 7 OTs is just too many.

The problem with PKs is that it’s so bastardized it’s not even reflective of the game. Imagine if Baseball called it quits after 9 innings and the teams had a home run derby to decide the winner.

How does this argument work for other sports that don't allow draws?

A regular season game doesn't really need a winner in any sport.
