I know that first lineup isn't going to happen, but I hope Gregg and the federation's ego doesn't make them forget what the point in all of this is. This isn't about beating Mexico, it's about qualifying for the World Cup and the Panama match is a million times more important than the Mexico match. We need our best rested and ready for Orlando because, again, assuming Costa Rica doesn't win at Canada on Thursday, if we beat Panama we clinch a top three spot.

The roldan call-up doesn’t surprise me. However, he’s lucky we have no midfield options.

Gregg is doing to Brooks what Jurgen did to Benny Feilhaber. Clearly has more to do with something else other than form.

We have better options than Roldan. You bring in Mihailovic for him. Better yet you play Reyna in that position where he plays for his club team. Then you can bring in Sargent as a winger winger which is where he is playing for his club team.

It's so damn weird. And we are an injury or suspension for Miles or Zim against Mexico away from having to start Long, EPB or Sands in a must win game to qualify. So dumb

It's a US tradition going back to Sampson leaving out Harkes, Bruce with ABMOD leaving out way better options, etc.

Sands has only played in like one cup game and missed the last nine league games and he gets a call as a CB and Brooks doesn't! GGG said it was because of form. Look GGG lie to us in a more believable manner. Say something like Brooks doesn't fit the way we want to play in a high line his weakness is defending on the turn. Don't say its because of form.

Zimmerman has been our best defender. Brooks should absolutely get a call up though.

I really don’t understand why Brooks would be left off at this point unless there is something personal between the two that they aren’t discussing publicly. Gregg has made it clear he’s not out of the picture though, but that doesn’t align with his callups. Also I don’t understand Bello over Scally.
The midfield is what it is. Just super shallow there and I wouldn’t expect him to bring in anyone new for the final window- definitely going to stick with someone who knows the system. It’s a shame that Eryk Williamson had his ACL injury because we could use a guy like him. All that said, I don’t understand the teeth gnashing over Roldan here. He has been one of the best midfielders in MLS. And I honestly don’t know who we would replace him with. I doubt he would have been on the roster if McKennie was healthy tbh.
