quote:The second and last goals of theirs had some bit of skill. The first happened when we decided to become spectators instead of compete and the third was the goalie going full retard. I'm just glad there was some skill behind those two goals.
until the Goal Keeper and Ream went full retard.
Ream didn't do shite. I don't know why he played all 90 minutes.

In the Netherlands, for example…
Any kids that show promise in soccer at a young age are moved from local schools and put into academy schools to develop throughout their youth.
It’s a national priority.

Fun stat Pulisic lost 11 possessions in 48 minutes of play.

Did he? They dominated attacking play and we had one shot from open play. That’s fricking pathetic. Yeah the players were arse but where were the adjustments when it became immediately obvious we were in trouble.
Towards the end of the first half, around the 35th minute or so, you could notice a change starting to happen. The US was starting to find windows opening up in the defense allowing more fast breaks.
After the half, that continued. The US was starting to take control.
Then our GK how run up and kick the ball to clear it.
That one mistake ended the US. It took all the fight out of the team and gave complete control to Belgium.

Do countries like Belgium recruit foreigners and grant them citizenship?
Do we?
Do we?

At the end of the day Poch made our guys forget they were soft pu$$ies for a few games but the magic wore off. Back to the thing they have done best for most of the last 10 years - be soft.

US soccer hasn't had a true breakthrough moment since 2002. Tonight was so bad that it squashed any momentum they built in this tournament before it.

Apple TV is killing MLS viewership. They are probably the least bought app compared to Netflix, Prime, ESPN, Peacock, Max, etc. I hear Netflix is the front runner since they have the Women’s WC but I hope NBC gets it to stay on NBC and Peacock and easily swap to Telemundo and Andres Cantor call a match, plus their EPL coverage is pretty good.

US Soccer needs to be purged of the MLS shite. You aren’t going to develop players in that shite league. We don’t have enough quality.
Yeah let’s blow up our league that’s primarily responsible for the development of domestic players, that will definitely fix things

Poch made really good halftime adjustments after the team was shell shocked in the first half then that absurd goal ruined any chance we had of keeping confidence.
We still had almost no shots. I think he got thoroughly outcoached.

CP is a lot like Donovan to me. They just don’t have the personality and toughness to be a captain just happen to be the most talented player on the team.
Dempsey is the USMNT goat.

Every player on our team is an American citizen.
I don't know about Belgium, but it would be weird if they had players on their team from an old colony of theirs.
They're not the most popular of the "Colonizers" from Europe

but kids in America don’t play soccer games for fun. They play basketball unstructured and for fun. Same with football. Same with hockey. Progressively less and less with baseball. But not soccer. Public fields are largely leased to youth leagues that often restrict access. Kids participation in the sport is fully structured. Until kids play soccer for fun in the US we will continue to mostly suck at soccer.
Perfectly put. Kids in other countries develop an addiction to soccer at an early age. It’s a rec activity here

Get rid of the 72 MLS teams. Make two leagues and relegate teams. Take the top 10 and concentrate the talent. Make 10 fricking elite teams that could play against other elite players.
Fun concept but you have to get people to pay for it. Good luck. Do you think don Garber waves a magic wand and this just appears out of thin air?

MLS is a fricking joke and we may be in no different position without the league.
This is really profound if you’re 16 but if you’ve paid attention to soccer in this country the past few decades you’d realize how asinine it sounds.

CP can’t carry Donovan’s hair piece. Donovan did everything in South Africa in 2010. And carried the US to the 2013 Gold Cup.
