This match needs to be used to see which guys we can count on going forward in the knockouts if called upon and also to give rest to our best players (Pulisic) and to guys who have picked up minor injuries through the first two games (Boyd, McKennie).

Normally, I would agree with this, but our core group has only played 1 game together. Theyve been messing with formations and personnel forever, if they havent identified a few players that can be meaningful subs then we need a new coaching staff already.

ETA: Not saying to play the core group the full 90, but let them start and see how the game goes. Sub them off at 60 or halftime.

I agree, but I worry about fatigue.

I would argue that Jozy is part of that core group and we need to see if he can play starters minutes this tournament.

God that MF gives me AIDS. And that's not on you, Broski. The lack of any MF depth on this roster is shocking

I wanted to kill myself typing it out, but I see no reason for Pulisic, Bradley or McKennie to play tonight.

That is not a lineup I can get an American boner for, and I can see greggggg putting it together.

But I wouldn't be mad at him if that's what he put out tonight.

I really wish that Holmes was healthy. Also, Antonee Robinson should've been on this squad.

Give me the same lineup but with Jozy up top instead of Zardes.

I miss the days of the GAM showing up in Gold Cups and WC qualifiers and wasting CONCACAF squads.

Him and, more recently, Joe Corona... this is the first Gold Cup he has missed since 2011.

I don’t see Trapp and Mihailovic on the field together in a competitive match

Agreed, id just like to see the best 11 play. Its not like we are france or belgium. Our team needs all the practice they can get. Im growing tired of all these tryouts. Sure sub 1 or 2 younger guys to see how they mesh, but come on.

Does anyone know if we have started the same 11 more than once since the qualifying debacle?

That will happen if we make the final.

The lineup is out... it’s a whole new XI

Johnson
Cannon-Miazga-Gonzo-Lovitz
Trapp (frick)
Roldan-Djordje
Morris-Jozy-Lewis

God that’s disgusting lineup. And not disgusting in the slang sense. It literally fills me with disgust.
