Who is, IMO, England's best defender.

FWIW, I fully admit that I'm a dick on here when I'm debating. Just wanted to clear that up for anyone that may have thought otherwise.

Now, will you admit you were wrong on Turner?

How is being hesitant about a GK whose only played four matches for his club this season and also coming off an injury not being a shoe in for #1 on the GK list wrong.

It is a fact live action is very important for GK form. Seeing the same players day in and day out and only adjusting to their shooting habits is not ideal for form.

It’s different for out field players battling day in and day out for a spot in the XI

I’ve also said I wish Turner stayed in MLS until after the WC, bc we all know on form right now he is our best GK. But we don’t know his form bc he doesn’t play enough and has faced literally two shots in matches

How often do you see me saying I wish a guy stayed in MLS

So just so we're clear here, you say I'm the one who can't admit he's wrong, but you still standby your statement that Turner has been bad for Arsenal and is not the USMNT's best available GK for the World Cup.

Got it.

LOL, this is such a god complex of a defense.

He made a couple mistakes that almost led to goals

Was I being over the top saying he’s been bad sure, I was

But saying a dude that’s seen two shots all season for his club should not be the for sure #1 isn’t out of the norm to bring up.

Having now listened to the whole interview, I suggest everyone else do the same. It's by far the most transparent Gregg has ever been in an interview.

Just listened on my way home tonight, I dunno if he was just tired from that day or Rog is just that good at disarming people but I really enjoyed it and he was very forthcoming.

That said I'm more convinced Haji got in not just on form alone, but for his locker room presence with Adams/McKinnie/Pulisic etc.

Which interview was it? Having trouble tracking it down on their podcasting side.

I found it on the main Men in Blazers feed.

It's titled "Men in Blazers 11/09/22 Do it live! With Gregg Berhalter" if that helps.

I haven’t read all this shite but it’s dumb as frick that Pefok isn’t here

But for real this is like a bubble NBA title. This isn’t a real World Cup. The winners will Jack their dick but it’s completely illegitimate.

More than an asterisk on this. Completely void.

I'm still going to enjoy it all the same.

Never taking a US world cup match for granted ever again.

Your daily reminder that Ferreira was chosen over Pepi and Haji over Pefok.

Ferreira over Pepi is probably a bad call, but Haji over Pefok is probably the right call.

I think I agree.

At the end of the day, none of them are obvious picks in either direction (like Pulisic, Adams, etc).

Why in your mind is this not a legitimate World Cup?

Yeah I don't get that

Having it 1. in Qatar and 2. in November are the worst decisions in sports history

But that doesn't invalidate the winner; the competition is the same

Now if we get a weird winner in the first 48 team WC in 2026 get back to me (like 3rd place Portugal in the Euros), but that still doesn't devalue the work done

US Soccer just released its 26 stories feature on Youtube.

Time to bring some positivity in this thread. Say what you want about who made it and who didn't it, regardless, this group is incredibly likable.

Absolutely. Time to rally behind the team. Cannot wait for the first match. I feel like our defense and attackers are good enough, midfield is stacked - if this team can click and stay healthy, we can surprise some people.
