I think he has some loyalty to PSG and will sign a one year extension with the stipulation that he’s sold next summer.
I don't see how that benefits PSG and why they would do that... it would put them in the exact same situation next summer.. I see him either being sold or extending long term this summer... I cant really get a good feel for which one...

How on earth did we finish THIRD? After what was arguably the worst season I have ever watched (it felt like those seasons with the Hodge at times).
Honestly, this has to go up there with one of Klopp’s greatest ever accomplishments. To finish the season with 8 wins and 2 draws in 10 is astonishing.

May be an unpopular opinion, but we should sell Nat and Rhys this summer, while their value will be at an all-time high... They won't get enough PT next season..
100% agree. Nat is good enough to get regular playing time for one of the newly promoted sides or a lower table team. Wouldn’t mind keeping Rhys since he’s so young. But we’re looking at VVD, Gomez, Matip, most likely Konate, possibly Kabak
And truth is even though he never stays healthy Matip is good enough to be a starter with VVD. So that’s a ton of talent that we’ll have 4-5 deep for cb’s. We should expect we’ll never have another injury crisis like this season so if you can get solid money for Nat and Rhys you gotta pull the trigger

Yeah, I'm pretty ecstatic with how we finished. Especially with a less than ideal CB partnership that we wouldn't have even trotted out for the Crap Cup, let alone for PL games in any circumstance (other than 3 injuries) that I can think of.
Transfer thoughts -
Attack - is Harvey Elliot ready or does he need a loan in the premier league next year to take his next step? Does one of the front 3 need replacing? I know we're looking at a few young "cheap" attackers as well, and of course the Mbappe rumors (which I can't see us paying for a transfer and whatever wages he will demand unless he is hell bent on playing for Klopp or something)
Midfield - can Curtis Jones continue to develop? And importantly, who do we get to replace what Gini brings? Because he was the only one who does what he does in that midfield. We have multiple MF who can't stay healthy. So I suspect we bring in someone here, whether another young "cheap" player or an older vet.
Defense - clearly we are looking at another CB or two. Not sure if we pick up Kabak's buy option or not. And do we look to sell high on Philips/Williams? TAA definitely needs a back-up or something. I also have no idea still is Tsimakis can play or not...
GK - can Kelleher stay healthy enough to be the back-up? Allison misses a few games a year (at least). So we need someone healthy enough to serve as a back-up. Would not be surprised at all if we picked up an older veteran on a free.

I would be thrilled if those were our CBs for next season...
I just dont think Rhys has the pace to play at this level... other than that, he is very green and can develop into a good player... both should use this invaluable experience to kick on and go do great things with their careers...

I think we need a true #9... starting quality... if one of the front 3 go, also a replacement for them... I like Harvey Elliot, but he's another that I question his pace... that little extra that will separate him at the top level..

I still think we need a Gini replacement and quite possibly one for Naby.. I'd personally like to see us move on from Milner, but I suspect he'll finish out his deal and next season will be his last..

Looks like we are declining the option on Kabak. I’d imagine we keep one of Rhys or Nat now

I've always been more impressed by him than Upamecano
Every time I watched him (Upamecano), he seemed to make big mistakes leading to goal...
Hopefully, Konate's injuries are behind him...

Don’t love that he has a bit of an injury history considering our situation, but I do love the player himself. We have 4 legit first team CB’s, Nat not included

Love the signing, his injury was really just one and he seems to have come back too soon at one point. 6'4, 21 and crazy pace for a guy his size. VVD, Gomez, Matip, Konate and Nat? The ghost Ben Davies? I have no idea there.

Konate about to play for u21s on ESPN+ for those interested...
check out these guys is the starting 11 for the France u21s... an embarrassment of riches for them... I look at this and then remembered watching the USMNT senior team yesterday
we are a looong way off..

Damn, that’s a nasty lineup for a full international team no less U-21.

Will Salah sign another contract?
How do we keep our top guys at $200k a week when other clubs are way above that
