I hate how soccer does the "per week" thing for salaries.

I just hate knowing that some of these guys make that kind of money PER WEEK not even counting the millions more they get from endorsements lol

Trent picked up a thigh injury during the match yesterday.

Hope it isn’t serious.

That was a weird looking injury on a clearance. Didn't look serious though but lower body knock in Football is not short term good news.

Transfer question. I do not think this will happen but I want some opinions. What would you say to Konate, Daka, Ikoye and a Bissouma? I know not the names everybody wants and I still think this might be exurbanite because I am convinced FSG are just cheap as frick for the most part. I would be ecstatic considering our recent history in the transfer market sans Thiago.

I wish we’d go get Daka now. Myron Boadu too for that matter. Seems obvious they’re set for a major value increase in the near future. Haaland was obviously going to be really good at Salzburg and BVB bought him for 22 million. Now he’s the second most valuable player on the planet 2 years later.

FSG has proven they’ll spend on potential, but not more than 10 million pounds or so. They either want a verified big league young player (Jota, Konate) or a bargain buy (Gomez, Robertson). The youngsters that dominate in second tier leagues are seemingly never on our radar and I wish we’d rethink that strategy to a degree

Daka, Boadu, Konate, Tielemans would be a brilliant summer in my opinion. All young players with the ability to play right now and be the corps of the squad in the future

I like the few times Ive seen Daka... But I see him more as a Divock replacement (in the short term), that maybe grows into a starting #9... I'd like someone who may be able to start from day 1. At the price I've seen, it seems good value and I dont think he's going to AFCON.

I assume you mean the French guy, Ikone? Again, I see him more as squad depth.. I am assuming we hold on to Sadio and Mo.

Bissouma I think would be a good pick up, but if he and Naby are both gone for AFCON, that would suck for depth... thats usually the time of the year when injuries start piling up and Thiago/Hendo/Milner are the wrong side of 30...

That will change next summer though... Not value, but transfer fee... He will become very attainable for every big club, price wise..

Blessing in disguise for LFC. Sucks for him as I’m sure it means a lot to him to wear the England badge especially after everyone doubting him the last few months, but he needs these few months rest after playing basically all season for us

As far as transfer talks, seems like everything I’ve seen (which admittedly isn’t a ton over the last week or so) indicates the next focus for us will be restructuring/extending some of the current squad like VVD Fab and Alisson

I see the same thing. It also appears we are sticking with our MF as is with Jones stepping up. I would think Elliott returns also to the Senior squad. It appears Klopp wants Ox which I have no issue with but Keita scares me with his injury record. I do think we get a Daka type 9 and a forward. I wonder what he does with Taki, at 7 million it might not hurt to give him another go. I don’t want us selling a bunch this year except true dead weight like Shaq, Origi and guys like Grujic, Wilson etc who seem to have no future with us.

I'm sure its been done, but I'm too lazy to go back and read. I'm going to assume the outgoings will be:
Origi, Shaq (sad), Wilson and Grujic. I don't want Keita to leave, so he stays in the current squad.

Current squad:

K: Alisson, Adrian, Kelleher
RB: Trent, Neco
LB: Robbo, Tsimikas (assuming he exists)
CB: VVD, Konate, Gomez, Matip, Phillips, Williams, Davies
MF: Henderson, Fabinho, Thiago, Keita, OX, Milner, Jones
FWDs: Salah, Mane, Firmino, Jota, Harvey, Taki

Obviously Gomez, Fabinho, Milner and Ox can all play at more than one position group. I'd definitely like to see us bring in additional competition (can be same player) for RB/LB, another MF, and at least one more versatile attacker. Hope we can find money to spend without having to wait for outgoing transfer fees.

I think that we generally want to sign a striker but I have no idea if Klopp wants another MF or Forward. Or should I say FSG has told him certain parameters that he has to live with that affect those decisions. Keita and Ox scare the shite out of me in MF if we aren't bringing in another quality player there.

Not to mention Jones is still young, Milner is ancient and Hendo has had his share of injuries lately... I think they should bring someone in, but I'd like it to be a more attack minded #8...

I think if all healthy... Fabinho, Thiago and Hendo are still your starters...

edit: If he stays, I hope year 4 Keita stays healthy and puts it all together... on ability alone, he should be in that 3 above... I have my doubts..

If Naby and Ox stay healthy we are set because I love both of their games and they both possess qualities we don’t have in MF.....,,,,...........IF.

People forget that Ox was a FORCE during our first recent run at a UCL title before getting injured.

That said, I have not seen all that I would like out of the both of them, and think that we NEED quality midfield depth that brings attacking creativity.

Is the pay per week based on the 38 weeks season or 52 week year?

Welp... I think we other areas of focus this off season... I'm guessing Kellher is staying and not going on loan...
