Werner will be a lot more expensive this transfer window though, wouldn’t he?
Not sure why autocorrect swapped to “Reaper”.

Havertz?
Maybe he could stay healthy, unlike Baby Keith.

You think we would pay what they are asking for Kai? 100 million is steep although Klopp does love the kid.

I'm only going off of numbers I've seen reported. If he's £50m this window and 30-40 next summer, then yes he'd cost less. We've seen that it takes some players time to acclimate to Klopp's system (even some of our best), so personally I'd like to see him in sooner rather than later. Liverpool have spent very little in the last few windows while recording record income over that time frame. If any club are in the position to spend now to strengthen going forward, we have that ability.

Not to mention.. thats a bargain in the recent market, for someone of his ability...
I'm not saying he will, but he has the ability to overtake someone in our front three of one of them let up... I think he's that good..

I think Timo is a done deal for 50 or 55 I can’t remember which but both are a again. I’m curios if we rate someone like Havertz for a lot more than that.

Liverpool have reportedly withdrawn from the race to sign RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner after deeming his €50m release clause too expensive.
Werner has been heavily linked with the Anfield club and other top European clubs, after scoring 30 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions this season.
According to Mirror Sport, Liverpool value the 24-year-old at ‘less than €30m’ due to his contractual situation (two years left) amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

LFC quit Timo Werner pursuit after refusing point blank to go over £30m – Dave Maddock

A report in the Mirror caused quite a stir last night amongst Reds who are becoming increasingly desperate for the club to sign Timo Werner…
Friend of EOTK and respected reporter Dave Maddock stated in unequivocal terms that Liverpool have pulled out of the race for the Rb Leipzig striker’s signature – because right now – we are unwilling to pay over £30m for his services given the drop in value of the transfer market due to the coronavirus.
Rb Leipzig on the other hand will flatly refuse to sell for anything less than his £50m-odd release-clause

Chelsea and Manchester United have joined the race for Liverpool target Timo Wener but are reluctant to pay his £49million release clause.
Werner, who has been one of Europe's leading marksman this season, is contracted to RB Leipzig until 2023 but the Premier League trio are looking to sign him for a discounted price amid the coronavirus pandemic, according to Bild.
However, Leipzig chief executive Oliver Mintzlaff has warned Liverpool - and any other clubs interested in Werner - that his release clause will not be lowered.
quote:
Liverpool now value Werner at nearer to £30m after the coronavirus crisis impacted finances throughout football, while United and Chelsea are also reluctant to meet Leipzig's valuation.
And the Bundesliga club's CEO, Mintzlaff, insists Leipzig will not sell Werner for lower than the clause while he still has three years left on his contract.
'It won't get any cheaper. We will not sell a player below value if he is under contract for more than a year,' he told Sport Bild.

shite, I guess will just have to struggle with Salah, Mane and Firmino if those reports are to be believed. Of course we have Edwards who I believe can figure something out to make us competitive.

It appears that City v Arsenal will happen on the 17th and we'll go to Everton on the 20th. Now, stranger things have happened, but if Arsenal beat City then we can win it at Goodison. And apart from winning it at Anfield, only OT would be more preferable that doing it across Stanley Park.

Nike contract started 6/1 and I know the team will still wear NB. I thought Nike gear would start hitting the market now but I am hearing its all backed up to 8/1. I guess that is smart but wanted my Nike gear now....I will wait

Man, I am so disappointed if we cheap out on Werner... A position of need, a potential superstar and a relative bargain...
He is ours if we pay the buyout...

Yeah, I’m a bit confused about this considering I don’t think the buy out is over priced. But considering who is calling the shots for us I’ll trust their judgment. I mean CL Champs one year, PL Champs the next.

Everybody underestimating the financial hit from COVID

I hope Shaq gets another real shot at the club. I think with him and Minanino included more than there are our added attackers.

Wtf Pearce? Two weeks ago he was saying Timo only has eyes for LFC and would play another year at Red Bull if it meant a deal with us.
