Back from the match. Was awesome! Pre match got to meet Fowler and Rush and get my scarf signed from them. Attended the Jamie Webster Pre-match concert which was boss! Seats were in the KOP end. They squeeze you in like sardines in the Big House. Saw the 3 goals in the second half right in front of us though. Can't believe I got to see a bicycle kick in person. Was amazing. The Man U kid's goal was pretty sweet to see live as well. There were supporters from all over the world there.
Side Note:
Very unimpressed by Ann Arbors campus, and the city as a whole. The only impressive thing in that town is the stadium.

I’m sorry gentlemen but I think when Lovren is ready he is easily Klopp’s first choice. I can tell you he would not be mine but I just get the feeling Klopp thinks of him AT THIS MONENT as our VVD partner.

No doubt, and with his performances at the end of the season and through the World Cup, I think Klopp is justified in his reasoning. He's a different player next to VVD, and should only be better with Alisson behind him. Gomez, Matip, and Klavan as cover is adequate, and if there is an injury crisis, young Nat Philips has shown promise.
Still think there's going to be some hurt feelings by players not making the bench. Assuming our starters are chalk from last season and Hendo/Keita/Fabinho in MF, Klopp has to pick 6 from: Sturridge, Solanke, Brewster, Origi, Ings, Shaqiri, Wij, Milner, Lallana, Gomez, Matip, Klavan, Clyne, and Moreno. That doesn't even include Camacho and Curtis Jones who have looked sharp this preseason.
I'm guessing Camacho is loaned and Origi and Ings are sold. Wouldn't surprise me if Lallana is sold as well. He hasn't impressed me at all this preseason. Older players like Milner and Klavan are probably ok with not making the bench, but I'd imagine Clyne and Moreno wouldn't take it very well.

Posted some on Twitter. @lfccolumbus and @lfchuckop. Mostly pre match festivities. Video of Webster singing the Mo Salah song. My Android has been shutting off anytime after 70% so I didn't get any pics during the match. My wife did. Signal sucked inside the stadium and was draining her battery too. Had to save some for the Lyft back to the hotel. Flipping Red Roof Inn Plus was $275 for one night. Parking around the stadium was anywhere from $60-$80. Our Lyft was $14 to the stadium and $39 from the stadium and we only went 4 miles. It was all worth it though. Even though it was a pre season match.

I tell you what Mood, hurt feelings are a really good problem to have. And that is with Ox on the shelf and a Fekir deal that was done and dusted until the medical.

You're damn tight its a good problem! It just seems like the team is really enjoying itself this preseason, no drama, no want aways, I hate to see it end with bitterness, but that's the nature of the beast. As the season progresses and injuries happen, this will likely sort itself (though it pains me to say it).

Sounds like we're out on Pulisic at least this summer... Price tag is too high.
As much as I'd like to see him as a red, I totally get the price tag just being too high.

one of the great things about Sadio is how many ways he can hurt you, and I expect to see Jurgen employ him tactically in ways that not only open up things for him, but also opens up space for others.
If you play too high so he doesn't get behind you, he'll drop a bit between the lines, pick up the ball and is dribbling at you which presents all sorts of problems. If you play high, he'll go between the RB and CB and cause both of them fits while opening up space for Bobby or Mo.
I expect to see all of our attackers used in diverse tactical ways throughout the season and throughout games.
That being said - I don't think any of them are going to play the Ox role. Only if Klopp switches up to a 4-2-3-1 against teams who may park the bus will we see one of those officially being more central and attacking midfielder.

Shamelessly stealing this from Reddit.
Don't want to necessarily beat the dead horse, but I think this stat shows that Solanke is involved in a lot of really good play during his minutes on the field.
This stat is essentially his involvement in the build-up, of expected goals.
My main point about Solanke is - he usually fits right into the side and everyone else's strengths are still at play. He creates space where he supposed to, he moves where he is supposed to, etc. The goals will eventually come too - even if he's never good enough to be a regular starter at Liverpool. He's good enough and tactically aware enough that when he plays, we are still creating a ton of chances.
Origi, on the other hand, looks the exact opposite to me. He's slow to recognize when he should move, he clogs up the space that others want to move into and otherwise stymies our offense. Yeah, he scores 4 sitters, but he costs us 10 other goals by being in the way or not moving. How many times has another attacker dropped off a little through ball to him and he's not even moving or looking for it? He has no tactical anticipation or awareness.
Just my thoughts after seeing the stat. And I do agree wholeheartedly that the sample size is not enough to draw large conclusions about Solanke - just that he does a lot of good things when he's in there even if it has directly related to him personally scoring goals.

I saw that post and chart but, my feelings being known about the subject in here pretty well by now, there was no way I was going to be the one to bring it in here. 
Edit: And if you didn't already know, stark, I agree with you 100%. I'm not an old hand at football as many of you are, so the only terms I could come up with in my own mind after observing both are that when Solanke is in the offense still "flows", but when Origi is in it "stifles". I think that's a broad generalization of what you are trying to say.

He really was playing very well before he got hurt and Robertson took over. Obviously still a bit of a wildcard defensively but better than what he used to be. He just also seems like a great personality to have around the team for morale so I hope he stays as a backup
