that's just nitpicking. Clearly he would have someone help him polish the letter, etc. That doesn't mean the sentiments expressed aren't heart-felt - and doesn't mean they are either.
But I'll give him the benefit of this being his dream.

Not just him but family.
Think about the wives and kids, no spanish/portugese speakers in Liverpool, crappy weather etc.
For any of them to stay 5 years, when they have the chance to put on those jerseys, live in those cities, you can't blame them. I'm sorry.
1 life and not all of them think Liverpool is the pinnacle, which is hard to argue given our mediocre run the last ~5-10 years and Liverpool as a city.
It's got its good things but its essentially Pittsburgh.

Seeing a lot of Mahrez smoke... Whispers of him having a medical this coming Sunday and having agreed to a 4.5 yr/£49m transfer.

You’ve never been to Liverpool have you?

I have.
How would you describe it?
It ain't London and it certainly isn't Barcelona.

I think I would liken Liverpool more to Portland, just instead of emo socialists, Liverpool has working-class socialists.
Posted on 1/9/18 at 5:12 pm to beatbammer
Ehh nah it’s not like Portland at all
Looks wise Hog is right it looks like Pittsburgh
Culture wise it’s like Seattle liberal, good music scene and people dress differently than most the country
Economy wise is like Detroit past and present

Point is, I'm not going to hold a Brazilian hostage over not staying there, especially after 5 years. That's a long time to eat bad food and deal with worse weather.
Brazilians don't dream of playing anywhere in England, they dream of playing in Spain and Italy of the past.
It's Barcelona, think about it.

Most the players on Liverpool and Everton live closer to Manchester
Cheshire is we’re a majority of players in the north west live.

So faking injury, inserting uncomplimentary team information (true or untrue) in the Barcelona-friendly media, using your World Cup coach ("I wish his club played him in the proper position"), and consciously endangering your "teammates" attempts to qualify (at first) and advance (at present) in the Champions League are all just A-OK?
His desire to go to Barcelona is understandable. His attempts to force the move are shitty. frick Phil.

I'd agree. Its quite easy to get lost in the shuffle and frantic rush of London. I like London, but I like Liverpool more. For the same reason that New Orleans is better than Houston. Liverpool has character, culture, hospitality, and identity. London is the worst parts of hustle and bustle.
Can't claim Barcelona isn't great as its one of the most beautiful and unique places in the world.
None of the above really matters though, as my comment was refuting the laughable generalization that Liverpool is England's Pittsburgh.

Everyone ready for Adam Lallana to be revealed as our January signing to replace Coutinho? As this window drags on, I'm feeling less and less confident that we're spending any more money in January...

Read something earlier suggesting we’ll have an out of left field signing but that the guy was basically a past target that hasn’t been brought up lately. The candidates listed were
Christian Pulisic (want)
Mauro Icardi (no thanks, off to Spain in 2 years)
Julian Brandt (want)
Julian Draxler (want)
And last but not least, Luis frickin Suarez
Have also seen a Fekir link which is new. Think Mahrez or Lemar are still the top targets. Don’t see BvB turning down 50MM for Pulisic though if we think he’s worth it.

Chris Williams?Verified account More Further to reports in Bild and Kicker: Leipzig would consider allowing Keita to leave in Jan should a fee be agreed up on that suits both #RBL & #LFC. Leipzig are holding out for the highest possible return. Crucially Keita has now expressed a desire to leave during this window.
Honestly, I'm not expecting us to bring in anyone this window. Like someone else said, I actually do expect Lallana/Ox to be relied on more to take Coutinho's spot. I know he's nowhere near the same player, but I think some people are forgetting how good and effective Lallana was for us when fully healthy

I would be content plunking down £15mm of the Coutinho money to bring him in and then look to the summer to spend the rest when more options become available..
I think this gets done soon... just my opinion..

I think we are actively attempting to get Keita, Grootman and a GK right now. I don’t buy any of the Auba, Mahrez or Lemar talk. And I would be more than happy with that threesome, 2 to boost the D and Keita.

Good lord, so would I. I feel like this team is right on the cusp of being able to take the next step this season. Keita being cup tied hurts our UCL campaign, but that just means he'll be all the fresher for the league and the FA Cup. City's lead is insurmountable, but we're right in the thick of it for second.
In Klopp I trust, but damn it would be nice to bolster the squad further while we're flush and elite players (aside from Cou) want to be here. We have to maintain the allure of the CL to keep revival alive, top 4 is arguably more crucial now than it was last season!
