I think GK upgrade is more important in the immediate future than Coutinho replacement. We are an elite attacking side with or without Cou. Putting a competent goal keeper behind what’s shaping up to be a more than adequate back 4 makes Liverpool a dangerous out for any team in the world.

I agree but getting a versatile player like Groot who can play DM along with a GK would be worth it’s weight in gold right now with the addition of VVD.

I continually do that to this kid being that one of my best friends is named Grootman. I’m also not very bright gentlemen so doing two things at once is difficult.

Speaking of him did you guys see what Stevie Nicol said about Strootman (if we sign him I’ll have to really work on that)? He said that he wasn’t sure if he could break into the XI and not sure he fits JK’s system.

Anyone else scared to death like me of Man City's midfield against our midfield in Sunday's match?

The back 4 will be earning their salaries this weekend. And God send us the Good Migs and not the WTF Migs, amen.

Mo is fit for this weekend so that's a plus. We've finally had a full week off so a few guys got a much needed rest I'm sure. Should be our strongest XI at home, so I'm optimistic.

I’m excited to see a healthy Lallana and Ox play together hopefully. Pearce is reporting that we will not be getting a GK this month. Says we will continue with Migs and Karius and reaccess at year’s end.

Not really.. I thought we were doing okay before Mane got sent off last time..

Hoping to see a Gini, Ox, Can MF this weekend..

I'll be in NYC for the match.. anyone ever been to 11th Street Bar or Carragher's?

11th street is closer to where I'm staying.. Carra's spot in in Times Square (I think)

I'm okay waiting until summer to replace GK... very few slam dunk upgrades and it would be hard for the selling team to get replacements..

Just send them Migs in return? Works for everyone....

I think summer will be better. For one thing, we'll either need to buy two GK or just go ahead and anoint Ward as the back-up, because if we sign a clear improvement, I don't expect Migs or Karius to stay.

I would still like Karius to get his fair shot - but I'm pretty much yelling into the wind on this one. Migs isn't cutting it. See if Karius can before we spend money on it.

Agreed. I think Karius needs to show out for the remainder or it’s a new 1 and Ward. You boys need to take anything I say about Ox with the knowledge that I really like this kid on and off the pitch. He has become the guy that I pull for the most and he hasn’t let me down yet. I think he can be a special “Liverpool type” player.

It won’t happen, but SkyBets has LFC at 7/2 odds of signing Griezmann, ahead of Barça and united at 14/1. 1/4 odds he stays put

Let’s all imagine for a second it did happen though, and the shite show that would create on this board

https://www.thisisanfield.com/2018/01/klopp-sell-coutinho-clear-no-longer-help-us/

quote:

Klopp has already had to offload one unhappy player in Coutinho after the Brazil international made it clear he would not let a second attempt to sign him by Barcelona pass him by and the club eventually relented after a £142million offer was accepted.

“There was no other option,” said Klopp. “I knew there was a moment when it would come up again in this transfer window and it came up massively.

“It would have been very difficult if we say – and we could have done of course with his contract – ‘You have to stay here’.

“(I asked myself) ‘To use him as a player in the second part of the season did it make sense? Do I think I can use him and can he help us?’

“It became 100 per cent clear, no chance. He was not ready to do that any more.

i caught a match a couple years back at 11th street bar. shotgun bar with a big screen in the back, and a few tables around that. if you go there i'd suggest getting there a little early and grab a bar stool by close to a tv. a few minutes after the match started, it quickly became packed and standing room only.

i plan on hitting carra's next trip up there. i saw he was there getting shitfaced last week i think lol

The first half of the City and Liverpool U23 match has been rough.

City's Benjamin Garre and Rhian Brewster were both stretchered off with oxygen after bad leg injuries in the first half.

Thanks, that was my worry about 11th street... I think I may go to Carra's just because it's bigger and why the hell not?
