Canada is getting decent chances but their shooting is terrible. Watching too much CFL.

Look at that. Another half with 7+ minutes of stoppage time.

So...has any other game had 7 mins of stoppage time? I have never seen 7 mins before...ever.

Buckeye, i'm not calling you out for any malicious purpose here, just comical that the very next game after this comment also has 7 mins of stoppage time.

Just funny how that worked out.

Chapman was okay, but okay doesn't cut it in the knockout stage.

Happened twice in the group stage games I was watching IIRC.

The US isn’t winning this World Cup if Rapinoe continues to start. She’s dead weight out wide. She doesn’t have the pace anymore, doesn’t really create anymore and is more often than not dispossessed 1v1. Unfortunately she’s being allowed to coast on her name, and I don’t think Ellis has it in her to make that change. I’m not even one who dislikes her, she’s been really important to the success of the team, but it’s time to make the change.

With that said , credit where it’s due, she knocked home two mega-pressure penalties.

Perfect summary.

It’s like when Scurry started over Solo (lost badly) and when an old Wambach kept getting trotted out over Morgan (won over the course of the tournament). The USWNT has a history of this and Ellis isn’t strong enough to make the necessary changes.

Yet they are willing to move Lloyd to reserve. She is much more impactful than Rapinoe on the field. It is clear that Jill Ellis is doing everything she can to help keep as much attention on Rapinoe as possible. There is no other excuse for continuing to start her. This has become a political sideshow.

No she isn't, but she is not strong willed enough to fire back at critics who would accuse any reduction of playing time for Rapinoe as being "politically motivated".

This is exactly how I feel. It’s even more difficult with her being the captain. But she’s been really bad on everything outside of set pieces.

Oh come on, nobody would ask that or buy that. She's been the captain for crying out loud.

The problem now is so many people are dumb and will think she had a good game because she scored two penalties.

Basically a toss-up IMO. The Dutch have looked better this tournament, but the Japanese women are always good.

I like for the Japanese fans to clean up the arena after the game ends
