The way they determine offsides is killing the game

Game would be a lot more popular in the States if the barely offsides weren't called so much.

The optimal soccer score to keep people interested is probably more like 4-3 rather than 1-0 or 2-1. The game could use more scoring.

I'm sure if they fixed that (and they likely will) the American fans that tune in only for the World Cup, will find another reason to complain about.

It's ok to just not like soccer homie instead of constantly needing changes to enjoy a bastardized version.

Totally, it’s just like American football calling touchdowns when the ball barely breaks the plane. It’s so bad for the sport to use technology on plays with objective parameters, getting it right is so bad for interest here

No, I love it. I just hate the unnecessary rules that make it less fun at times.

I've been watching soccer a lot longer than you may think

The offsides rules are more of a construct than just merely crossing the goal which is not as good of a comparison as you may think.

For example coming up with rules for the spirit of what offsides is intended to prevent is not the same as just eliminating nets and goalies.

Americans complain in unison all the time about rules they don’t like and how they wish the nfl would change it

Why soccer fans are so scared to even fricking discuss a rule change is odd to me. Offsides overall makes complete sense to me in soccer. What happened to Iran is ludicrous as a rule

Think about a tip ball in football, once that happened there is no interference. I feel like there should be some equivalent in soccer when the ball gets so deep in the opponents box and their is chaos

Egypt benefited from their goalie coming too far off his line and their defense being out of position

The Laws change all the time

It’s not good form to recommend changes to things you don’t understand

There’s no point to be made, offside has objective parameters and we have technology that call it correctly

You’re suggesting changes to a Law you can’t even get the name right to

I’m doing you a favor. You could use far more candid education

Offsides in soccer hasn’t had a change in 23 years, and it was a great change. Did soccer fans bleed all over themselves? Was it dumb ignorant Americans that forced the change?

Offsides is fine.

And the rule is 2nd to last defender. Being the goal keeper means nothing or else the keeper can just run up the field and make everyone offside.
