I just got back from the MEA

there are visas on arrival pretty much everywhere, so entering GCC countries is easy so a lot of people will stay elsewhere and just go to Qatar for the matches

Gulf Air and Qatar Air were advertising cheap fly in and fly out flights where you can stay in UAE or Bahrain and fly in and out of Doha for the match

it was weird but in Dammam SA, Bahrain, Dubai, Abu Dhabi there were national team kits in the stores but very little world cup ads, banners etc. I looked for a world cup Tshirt and could not find one.

I did get a sweet Russia national team shirt at the Puma store in Dubai Mall for my son

because it is cool, and pretty hard to find
it is the Russia Adidas 2018 top with the WC Badge on it

ETA got him the maroon 2022 Serbia jersey from the puma store

The state of my local Fox affiliate beefing with DirecTV and cutting the channel off right before the World Cup. Guess I gotta fumble with the antenna again.
