Oh no kidding they want him on the field but to release statements saying the bite didn't happen, Chellini put his shoulder there, things like this just happen, it's the media blowing this up, the media wants Italy in the WC........need I go on???

The Uruguayan federation should have made Suarez shut up - no interviews, no statements - and released a very brief statement saying "We understand FIFA is investigating a possible incident. We will have no comment until FIFA is done with their investigation. The team and players will cooperate and hope to have a resolution to this situation soon."

THAT'S IT.

These bullshite statements pointing fingers everywhere are just farcical when they know there are 100s of cameras everywhere and they have eyes. The bite happened. These statements are insulting to anyone with eyes and a brain.

As I wrote in my post above, the reactions from Suarez, Uruguayan players, manager and officials after the fact have been much worse than the bite itself.

100% agree

quote:

When it happened at Liverpool, I recall Suarez and the club being fairly apologetic and proactive. At least I recall Suarez's "heartfelt" emo apology in which he feels so bad thinking about his children etc etc. . .

and LFC is already back in panic mode while some of their fans stick up for him

quote:

Now the message is slightly different.

If I were a member of the FIFA committee, I'd only suspend Suarez for 10 or so matches but specifically the next 10 World Cup matches for which he is eligible and I would cite the resistance of Uruguay's officials to be anything but deflective as a contributing factor.

I agree the fact they have the nerve to come out claiming its an agenda against him bc they knocked out England and Italy is down right laughable.

If he feels that way about Europe then don't fricking play in Europe.

For him saying Negrito. Different cultures man. Lots of South Americans and Central Americans use that term and it's not considered offensive.

You don't get it and never will apparently. Did you see the actual exchange between Suarez and Evra? He didn't use that term as a term of endearment. It wasn't a friendly exchange between two people who know and like each other. He lashed out against Evra, just like he did in these biting incidents. Negrito has a negative meaning as well and that's the way he used it. He said it in a fit of anger and popped Evra's jersey as he said it. He was found guilty of racial abuse after a thorough FA investigation. You sound like the Uruguayans trying to justify his bite on Chiellini.

I understand what you're point is and don't disagree... I would repent and beg for leniency...

I just think they don't give a shite what anyone thinks and that's from the head of their federation to the youngest citizen...

Honestly the more shite he does like this the more believable the racial abuse incident becomes.

How credible is a man who bites someone and its on tv but claims he never did it.

The Uruguayan FA seems to be begging FIFA to ban him form international competitor for life based on their idiotic handling of the situation.

I completely agree that's what motivating them: deflect and posture in the wild hope that no decision is quick enough to rule him out the next match and saving face with homer fans by "supporting" their team's best chance.

I also compare this to things like De Rossi's awful elbowing of McBride where De Rossi was waiting for him in the locker room to apologize, apologized for his actions to McBride, both teams and all their fans in post match interviews and the Italian FIGC issued an immediate apology as well. Many in the Italian press thought the Italian FIGC should have added to FIFA's 4 match suspension as well.

I would still be much more likely as a FIFA committee member to throw the book at him as far as International and specifically WC eligibility for the upcoming cycle --or maybe just a ban for a specific number of World Cup matches -- based more on the responses after the fact than the incident itself.

I know nothing of this sort has ever happened with a US player.
Hypothetically:
If the US was in a similar situation. Don't you think our coach, and fans would call for the players' (even star player) immediate dismissal from the team?

Or am I being nieve?

I think the coach and USSF would send him home in hopes of a lenient punishment.

Yea because the FA had soooo much evidence in a one person's word vs. another incident. There wasn't even video evidence of him saying it, unlike Terry's incident. I guess I never will get it then apparently...

The fans, absolutely. We are a fan base full of loathing. We already hate our own players when they make mistakes on the pitch, including our biggest stars.

What I find really funny about this one is Suarez sprinted 15 yards to bite him. It was premeditated

In several threads you've basically been defending Suarez. That's pretty sad.

What the frick is wrong with you? Biting him in the ear is worse than biting him in the shoulder? You dont think he would have taken a chunk out of his ear with the same force he just used to bite down on muscle and bone through a shirt?

Defending this guy "because he is fun to watch" is your fricking problem.

Also after
1) the joke of a red card for Marchisio
2) Saurez not only not getting sent off for biting Chiellini but that the goal they scored was right in the midst of the flaring emotions and meltdown right after the biting incident

The Uruguayan federation should be kissing their lucky stars.

As poorly as Italy performed in the group matches, as a fan of the team, it's beyond offensive that the Uruguayan federation would claim that Italy ever benefits from any FIFA bias ever and much less after that farce of a result yesterday.

Hell yes.

Biting is a symptom of a seriously fricked up individual....like pedophile or necrophiliac type of screwed up

Yeah, for some reason, I don't think that Chiellini will talk about Suarez the same way McBride has talked about De Rossi

But this is Uruguay, so I'm not sure I expected something different
