frick Iran. And frick their press at that PC with their sanctimonious bullshite.

ETA: If I wasn't clear frick the Iran government. I'm sure like most countries, the majority of people in Iran simply want to live their life, provide for their family, and carve out a little joy in our short time on this planet. Have nothing against those folks.

Berhalter has a hard time moving from a 4-3-3. Much less moving a battle ship.

Kudos to Berhalter and Adams for handling this bullshite and not telling half these reporters to go frick themselves or just walking out if they aren't going to talk about the soccer match.

Tyler is so captain material it's not even funny. No one else should wear the armband for the next 10 years.

My son wants a new US jersey. I'm getting him Adams. I'll tell him Pulisic, McKennie, and Reyna were sold out.

I had this game as a 0-0 bore fest until this.

This silly PC is the type of thing that makes people who weren't going to go off light it up.

We need to go out there and punch them in the mouth. None of this pregame “let’s take a pic together for world harmony” bullshite we did in 98.

Honestly you could tell Iran's coach didn't want to get into any of the bullshite either. His answers in his PC were pretty good. Took a little shot at the "silver spoon" pedigree of the US players compared to his I guess, but basically stayed above the fray.

In the end it was idiotic for the US soccer media people to change the Iranian flag in the way they did. It doesn't help the oppressed people of Iran at all. It's just a meaningless attempt at virtue signaling that didn't even make any sense. If you want to "stand with the people of Iran" against their oppressive government, then don't mess with their flag like juveniles, just come out and say what you want to say. Better yet, how about soccer media people just stick to soccer.

Just an anecdote.

I've been getting my haircut at the same barbershop for about 10 years. The owners are two Iranian-Americans. First generation - both born in Iran. Fantastic haircuts. Both capitalists and pro-democracy to their core. Kind of talk like true libertarians if anything.

They love soccer so of course we have been talking about the World Cup coming up and the US, Iran match once groups were announced. They love their soccer team but you can tell both are torn about what "national pride" means for them. They think the Iranian government and laws are bad. They want change. They want democracy and freedom of religion, etc for their country. Yet they still love to support the Iran soccer team because they love soccer and it is their country of birth. Both will cheer for Iran. Both will then cheer for the US if the US advances over Iran because it is the country where they live and they like it here.

My guess is that this is how most Iranians feel. Probably even most of the players and coaches. Not the cheering for the US part, but being proud of their team and wanting to represent their country (the people of their country) while at the same time not supporting many of the laws and action of their government.

Your barbers will probably throw a little acid in your face on your next trim after this devilish maneuver by the cowardly US Soccer marketing team.

Gregg sounds annoyed, as he should be. I hope whoever was responsible for the flag then is fired. But first, put them in front of the cameras and make them answer for what they did. What an unnecessary distraction they created.

And good lord...that interpreter is awful.

It’s been said but I’ll repeat - this guy is the most indispensable player for the US at the moment. And when all is said and done for his generation I think we’ll conclude Adams had the best club career of any American to date. I think it’s just a matter of time before he is the locked in as the 6 for a top table premier league team.

The families of Iran’s World Cup soccer team have been threatened with imprisonment and torture if the players fail to “behave” ahead of the match against the USA on Tuesday, a source involved in the security of the games tells @kileycnn

The source, who is closely monitoring Iran’s security agencies operating in Qatar over the World Cup period, said that dozens of officers from the IRGC had been drafted in to monitor the Iranian players who are not allowed to mingle outside the squad or meet with foreigners.

He shouldn't have even responded to that question, as there is no appropriate response to some arrogant asshat insinuating that everyone must pronounce their country's name correctly, while 90% of the planet can't pronounce "Qatar" correctly.

I like how he turned it against the reporter by using it as an example of how Americans learn and get better instead of taking the racist bait.

Then he super low key faded the heat to Europe being more racist

I mean this is the organization that will pay women the same as the men when the men’s pot for making the World Cup is bigger than the women winning theirs.
