A stadium in or near Laplace would make sense to me geographically. It would easily be within an hour of both Baton Rouge and Nola not to mention West St.Tammany/ Destrehan/Hahnville. As for a name, I like Louisiana FC.

That would be really cool. I would definitely make trips to see some games.

Tear down some of those old empty buildings on Tchoup and build a stadium along side the river..

Bulldoze Old Charity and the current VA hospital after they open the new one. Plenty of space for a soccer stadium, and next to the Arena and Superdome.

The NBA has flopped down here. The Hornets have lost tens of millions since moving here, have relied on state financial assistance, and have only turned profit in 2 out of 9 seasons.

MLS would be a disaster as much as I hate to say it. People in Louisiana are too simple minded to support anything other than LSU and the Saints (only when they are winning of course).

that would be the worst possible location... MLS won't work anywhere in LA but NOLA, and only in Metairie, the lakefront by UNO, or at Tad Gormley

I was af the burn Olympia game at Tulane. The burn had a center half that was by far the best player on the field. Got a couple of call ups to mnt then blew out a knee and career ended.

I think the problem with mls and New Orleans is that it does become a grind. It's not simply one game per week on Saturday evening. They play a ton of midweek games and a lot of games with second and third teams. Not big draws. Plus I think some of the shitty mls teams won't draw huge crowds. It takes a large, passionate fan base. And it may draw the first year but what about year four or five if they are a mid to bottom of the table team.

A single owner would have to be a major baller. Tom benson type. Entry fee isn't ten million anymore. Mls teams are getting more and more expensive. And the league is going to want a soccer-specific stadium. Too many cities would gladly throw the money at a team and they have much more soccer tradition - Orlando, Atlanta, Minneapolis, St. Louis. All would be ahead of Nola unfortunately. Possibly Phoenix, Indianapolis, Miami and Charlotte or Jacksonville as well.

This. Our population won't support it.

There's room near Hahnville. Put it right on the river.

Houston has a great stadium and fan support. FC Dallas' stadium is kind of meh and they had like 11 people when I was there.

Two biggest mistakes made by Dallas FC were changing the name from the Burn and moving out of the Cotton Bowl.

Can we sue the Crew for their name and change it to Krewe?

how did that go

think thast drew a little over 5,000 which wasn't bad considering it rained real hard for a couple of hours before the match.

I don't know what the official numbers are for the Jesters this year, but I was at a pre-season friendly and their foirst league match. If they had more than 500 hundred at those matches, there must have been a very long and constant line for the bathrooms.

Please tell me I can watch MLS games in the Superdome. That would make my day after this disaster (not just Omaha, I had a shitty day in general)

Or they could play in Tulanes new stadium, whenever it gets built.

I've seen the blue prints, it would be perfect for that assuming Tulane would allow them to use it. The parking situation is going to be a nightmare, though.
