yep. guy was 2 years older than me. His father and my father served in the Air Force together and had several postings together. Basically grew up with that family always around. Summer after my father retired and we moved to Louisiana, kid was shot in an armed robbery while working in a gas station...
had a Chocolate Lab diagnosed with Addison's years ago. Treatment at that time was just the pills and two visits a year. Med's were not cheap, but it was probably worth it. He was diagnosed at around 2 years old and lived another 5 or 6 years. His quality of life didn't seem to suffer any for it....

I got word that the kid's mother is from Houma. I know her and went to school with her brothers. I'd venture to say that most people from Houma know or know of the family. Really tragic....
