and the stadiums in the other countries aren't?

Still waiting on how that even remotely compares to putting the World Cup in the middle east.

Tim couldn't have played a much better game. Sucks that we lost when he was giving that kind of effort.

According to the soccer snobs (who think they're gurus) on this board, FIFA never screws the United States

While this is extraordinary, Tim shouldn't have been put in a position to have make 16 saves. Our passing at times was pathetic. There were times where we could have controlled the ball, but instead gave it right back to Belgium in our own end. That being said it was a hell of a game.

Get off your high horse and stop being a dismissive douche. Subjectivity and corruption is a major issue with this sport on the international stage. frick dude your sport is not PERFECT.

I was being a dismissive douche bc he is being dismissive of soccer bc it is corrupt. Guess what? So are all other big money sports. Can't piss on one sport without pissing on them all.

Now, why don't you two keep all of your commentary on the subject in your own thread rather than the game thread since corruption had nothing to do with anything today in the first place.

only b/c we accept the bullshite that is publicly-funded stadiums. the NFL basically uses the super bowl as a reward to blacklmail municipalities into paying for these stadiums. that is the definition of corruption and crony capitalism

The WC just like the Olympics are too subjective and it gives the smaller countries a chance to give the big boys in the real world a big frick you.

I hope Jurgy works on passing and dribbling the frickin ball for the next World Cup. Our midfield possession was very similar to watching my kid's middle school soccer. It was disgustingly bad

we played vastly superior teams in the midfield and our midfield anchor shite the bed. you have to put it in perspective

germany, beglium, and ghana had amazing midfields and each was different in how they dominate. portugal was really good...certainly better than us. we may never consistently have that kind of a midfield
