Had 3 legit chances in OT and scored on 1. If I followed soccer year round it would have to be a club that attacked like their hair was on fire. Keep applying pressure til the other team breaks.

He is pretty worthless. Especially if you can't control the ball to get the ball to him right in front of goal. He sure as shite isn't creating anything by himself.

Yep. I think the final minutes showed what could have been had we been aggressive attacking from the start. Sucks.

to be fair, the 2nd belgian goal showed us what pushing forward would lead to, as well

You can't win the World Cup without talent. We do not have nearly enough talent to play with a team like this unless we get lucky.

This is a lot like the Algeria Germany game

Algeria missing a lot of opportunities in the box, but playing good enough D to take it to extra time, then Germany's two goals and the Algerian response that was almost good enough...

thread gets deleted simply stating a fact that we only won 1 match. Soccer board is super sensitive apparently

Would have been nice to have a healthy, less traveled roster today.

And to all those wondering why it took so long to attack, it's much like our football's late game prevent defense. Belgium changed philosophy.

No. Just, no. I guess you think the NFL and NBA are corruption free too, huh? But I digress, keep your stupid theories in your stupid thread.

Get off your high horse and stop being a dismissive douche. Subjectivity and corruption is a major issue with this sport on the international stage. frick dude your sport is not PERFECT.

I'm proud of the U.S. They could have tanked at the end, but fought their asses off.

Wish we had brought DA COOP instead. he would've crushed that one in stoppage time

Not even close to the level of corruption that is in FIFA. Last time I checked there wasn't a massive graft and bribery scandal involving where the Super Bowl was held nor was there a blown call in a championship game in the NFL that determined who went to the Super Bowl which didn't IMMEDIATELY result in a rule change the following season instead of that official being celebrated.

When last I checked, the infamous Seattle/Green Bay game resulted in the NFL begging for their main officials back.

I don't know soccer. I mean not at all. Never played it. Never watched it before this years World Cup. That being said, how did this guy even make the team? Seems like he was always screwing up. Maybe he was doing some good that I missed considering I didn't really know what I was watching. Can anybody shed some light on this? Was he in fact the weakest link or am I really that clueless?

This is what it boils down to. Belgium subbed a guy in a that would easily be the best player on our team.

The talent difference is substantial and we were lucky that we have a world class goalie because he is the only reason we had a chance to start with
