Just let that death toll continue to rise and double by the time the event happens?
It's not like the people being tricked into slavery are going to be allowed to go to the venues to watch once its all done.

Not one single Qarati citizen has died during construction, all the labor is imported from Bangladesh, Shri Lanka, Nepal, India, and Pakistan. Qatari's don't work.
As far as not being able to afford it, that has to be one of the more ignorant post ever typed on the entirety of this website. Qatar has that amount laying around in CASH. Qatar is the wealthiest country on the planet.
If you are going to go online and fake outrage at least learn something about the source of your angst.

Same labor in the same conditions that brought the world Dubai, and keeps your fuel cheap by the way. While not technically slaves they are poorly compensated and live in poor conditions. They agreed to come there willingly and are being paid.. It is the way of that entire region.
Not defending it just passing along a bit of info.

Actually, that's exactly what you are doing. You are defending slavery. They are promised things that they're not given when they get there. Please read up about the situation before you decide to post again.

All of Qatar uses low wage foreign workers for anything resembling blue collar and or low wage work/jobs in that country.
Its not limited to the stadiums being built for the WC.
Its actually quite sad.
Should never have been in consideration and the only reason it was is crystal clear. There shouldnt be one tear shed for them if and when they are stripped of the 2022 WC. Not one single tear.

Only like 13% of their population is Qatari. The rest are males brought over from other countries for labor. No one should give a flying frick if they lose the world cup.

Eh, I'd wager much of the world would rather the WC be in the US, which has the infrastructure in place to host the event easily, rather than Qatar, which doesn't, and won't use it after the event at all.
I also think that England and Australia might get opportunities to host, as both have the infrastructure to host as well.

I would imagine most soccer-obsessed countries would love for it to be in the US, as it would mean they don't have to readjust their domestic leagues to accommodate for a December WC.
Also, the developed countries of the world have largely praised the DOJ's involvement in bringing down FIFA.

I can see a mass boycott of the Middle Eastern countries but eh frick em. The only half way decent teams in that confederation are Australia, Korea, and Japan.

I'd be surprised if they even boycotted. It's not as if Muslim countries are one united bloc. The African countries wouldn't boycott, and I'd be surprised if anyone in the Middle East boycotts either. It's not as if Qatar is a power in the region. They have aspirations to be one, but all they have is money at the moment.

Sorry, I was not clear. I am completely on board that it should be removed from Qatar. I just want it to go somewhere else purely for political reasons.

That's good.
For those of you who want to just scoff at the rest of the world and talk about our nukes etc. you are obviously young and naive. Even if the military is strong, our government is loaded with idiots and is a shitstorm.
Relative to the rest of the world, we are becoming weaker, not stronger.
