With teams like Portugal, Uruguay, Russia, Ivory Coast, England, France, and even us not in the top 8, there may be 2 or 3 "Group of Deaths" next summer.

I'm going to be so pissed if we get royally fricked in the draw like in 06.

I still say that was the true group of death. Even tougher than the one with Argentina, Netherlands, Ivory Coast, and Serbia and Montenegro.

And we'll still get drawn into a group with two other teams in the Top 10.

Some of these teams might not even qualify. They are only one or two points ahead in their groups with 2 matches left.

This particular rankings release will determine the two pots for the final African qualifying draw.

Top 5 in one pot, bottom 5 in the other.

(Potential) seeds: Ivory Coast, Ghana, Nigeria, Algeria, Cape Verde (Really???)
(Potential) non-seeds: Cameroon, Egypt, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Ethiopia

I could see a couple matchups in there that would be worth watching.

That's a given, but they will be 43 with just a home and away leg left.

Could you imagine the epicness that would be Cape Verde vs Ethiopia for a spot in the World Cup?

What's stupid about that whole scenario is that Egypt goes undefeated and are a non-seed???

Does that have to do with fair play?
