Considering that Lichaj almost exclusively plays rightback for Nottingham Forrest, I'm not sold on him as our savior at leftback, especially if Fabian Johnson continues to plays as a left winger.

I mean he's better than Edgar Castillo, so...

Mix Diskerud has appeared in 11 of the USA’s last 12 matches dating back to July 5 against Guatemala. He played in all six matches in the 2013 Gold Cup winning run, and started the last two qualifiers. The United States holds an unbeaten record of 12-0-2 all-time in games in which Diskerud has appeared.

Where the frick is Guzan?

Per Grant Wahl: Donovan, Guzan, Castillo, and Goodson are all dealing with injuries at the moment.

Story of Lichaj's NT career: play out of position to displace shitty left backs.

Lichaj finally got called in?

Would love even a consistently mediocre set of fullbacks on this team

I don't understand calling in Shea. Has he even played at all for the first team?

I think Shea has seen two games, neither in the EPL?

I think JK is doing two things by calling him in.
1. Giving him one last chance to stay in the conversation for a WC roster spot.
2. Giving him a chance to play, get his confidence up, and maybe put in a performance that earns him a loan to the Championship.

Jurgen (like we all did at some point) still sees him as a possible difference maker for the USMNT, but if he doesn't start playing somewhere soon, he might never reach his potential.

Anyway, does including him mean we excluded any other left-footed wingers you would rather have seen?

With Gatt hurt there isn't really anyone else at his position we could call-in. At least not off the top of my head.

I think we are still looking at our option at RB considering nobody has really locked it down in Dolo's absence. He might get a look there especially since DMB is on this squad as well.

Or, maybe we push Fabs to RB and see what Lichaj does at LB. Who knows.

He'll only be like 6 feet away, I'm sure he will be able to see it from there.

In all seriousness, I have to think it will depend upon how he looks at the camp, but I gotta think Jurgen gives him one game to see how he does.

He'll see minutes. Just like Shea will play as well. Jurgen wants to see the guys who he believes are on the fringe play with some guys who are already on the plane in the summer.

Maybe that's what I want to see but me and Jurgen seem like pretty similar dudes.

Lichaj is on the team!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good to see the MLS guys are given a rest for the most part.

Can anyone tell me which players have serious injuries? I don't mean Donovan and Goodsen type minor injuries, but the kinds of guys who if the World Cup started on December 1, we wouldn't call in.

I can think of Cherundolo, Gatt, and Holden , and that's it, but I think I have to be missing a couple of guys.

Cherundolo

He was an available sub for Hannover this past week. Even though he didn't play, that is fantastic news.
